Snowman drives a chick car

The poor TT has always been saddled with the “chick car” designation – a sort of well-heeled Beetle for the gentler folk. Even the somewhat more virile TT S didn’t quite manage to change its image as the number one choice of aging metrosexual sports car drivers.

To tell you the truth this is the first time I have read that TT is chick car, I have only know men owning them

fantastic piece of machinery. That 5cyl snarl is worth it alone.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

If your old man had been in one of these..he would have been shot down by the 'bloke' in the Rover. Funny how things work out...init.

Reminds me of my the "glory days" of Audi innovation in the early 80's and my 1980 Audi Quattro FWD coupe. Wonderful 5 cylinder, though only 110 hp. So glad that a car like this now exists.

Nice power to vehicle ratio but can't help get that go cart feeling every time I see it.

Nonetheless like to give it a spin around Nuremberg  ;D

While the regular TT never did anything for me, and it was a well to do Beetle for affluent women, after seeing Snowmans TT, my opinion has changed. Thats a sexy piece of kit...even though its a FGC.
Lighten up Francis.....

Bovril  Morning, Squadron Leader.

Squadron Leader  What-ho, Squiffy.

Bovril  How was it?

Squadron Leader  Top-hole. Bally Jerry, pranged his kite right in the how's your father. Hairy blighter, dicky-birdied, feathered back on his Sammy, took a waspy, flipped over on his Betty Harper's and caught his can in the Bertie.

Bovril  Er, I'm afraid I don't quite follow you, Squadron Leader.

Squadron Leader  It's perfectly ordinary banter, Squiffy. Bally Jerry...pranged his kite right in the how's yer father...hairy blighter, dicky-birdied, feathered back on his Sammy, took a waspy, flipped over on his Betty Harper's and caught his can in the Bertie.

Bovril  No, I'm just not understanding banter at all well today. Give us it slower.

Squadron Leader  Banter's not the same if you say it slower, Squiffy.

As soon as someone mentions the RAF, this is where I go.
The RS? If it's good enough for Snowman, It's got to be pretty good. ;D

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

The 370Z is a great looking car, but performance wise, the TT-RS will eat it for breakfast. Probably its closest competitor is its stablemate the RS5....unless someone else knows of a 2 door, sport car with AWD.....only one that comes to mind is the Bentley GT  :o

Is a Carrera 4 (or 4S) too obvious of an answer here?

The TT-RS ain't cheap, and on paper it looks to be, well, nothing special.  Drive one.  It's more than special.  It pushes your belt buckle into your spine in a way that makes you laugh at the thought that there's "only" 360hp on tap.

Rip some apexes.  It might not be "as raw" as a Cayman, but you don't need to be an F1 pilot to make the TT-RS sing.  A reasonably skilled driver can really exploit the chassis.

Brakes?  Oh, really?  There's brakes?  Like discs?  Now way!  I thought there were massive high tech pavement anchors that were deployed transformers-style.  My rear-engined 911 could brake very, very hard.  The TT-RS brakes harder, and is more stable under hard braking.

Don't go into "sport" mode and the ride is better than you think it will be.

The Audi is way more than the spec sheet and so much better than the individual parts lead you to think it will be.  I haven't managed to score much seat time, but relish every second I have had.  It's a superb car.

Oh, and yeah, the exhaust note is wicked.

In the simplest of terms, Snowman laid it out for me early in his ownership.

"The Subaru STI is a knife. Tune it, and it's a sharp knife."

"The TT RS is a firearm."

Great way to sum it up and I agree
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

While I'd compare the Nissan Z to a TT S maybe... the TT RS is a step above. It's really engaging to drive with its perfect pedal placement and great little shifter - and only falls short of Porsche in steering and chassis feedback. There's just something that's so telepathic about driving a Porsche sports car - like they've done a Vulcan mind-meld on you. Drive them back to back and it's noticeable – otherwise the TT RS is everything you'd want in a sports car.

Love the Star Trek reference again.  Well put on the Z vs TT S.

Which roads are you driving on to be able enjoy the car?
The road to Lakefield on the east side of Trent is not bad
Did you have go to the chiropractor after driving in Peterborough area  the roads are not all that smooth , who I am kidding they are are crap, best driven in a pickup  ;D
