I assume, that this car, with it's longer wheelbase, and gigantic price tag, is really not a 4 series vehicle...but rather a 6 series???   Voss is los?  (excuse my German)Jack

Not sure I understand you. It's exactly the same wheel base as the A4.
The A6 uses a completely different, and bigger, platform.

S4 starts about the same price as the A6 (if you take the 2 liter turbo in the A6) or  ~ $6k cheaper than an 3 liter A6 that has a detuned version of the suprcharged V6 engine from the S4.

S6 is entirely different again and some ~ $30k more than the S4. That's the only way to get a "bigger than 4 series S car" if that's what you meant. Or and S7 and S8 of course for even more cash.

Have a 2011 S4, got the basic model with the sport differential as I put the Stasis exhaust, software upgrade and 20" wheels on it. The Stasis package was around $6K and the bump in hp to 410 and torque to 375 was way more worth it, to me, than spending the $6K on "luxury" items I don't need.

Flooring it in third gear sends shivers down my spine.

I've had no problems with the vehicle, sixth VAG product in the family in the last ten years, no electrical gremlins with any of them.

Disappointing though that we seem to be losing the A3 hatch with standard transmission in NA, wife is on her second and wants a third. We were hoping the S3 hatch would land on our shores.

Good to hear a good tale of Audi reliability, the many people who have Audis running just fine usually dont speak up, but sure if it has one little check engine light sure do we hear about it!

For anyone interested Chris Harris' latest video has him doing an informal road test of his personal tuned S4 avant dog-mobile, and comparing it to a base model cayman. If you can stomach Matt Farah and seeing how hilariously filthy Chris' S4 is, it's a fun watch.
