Ahh the good ole days, eh Snowman?  When there were no street racing laws?

I could rip that speed off in the Supra in 500 meters......those were the good ole days indeed.....

Yes, +220 is a video game  :)

Briefly saw 210 in my RSX Type S years ago. That was along the 401 in the early morning. It was still accellerating, but traffic ahead of me was coming up awfully fast. ;D

Love that car, nice blue one on my street.  So hard to find a type S, manual, and not black!

Don't see many 2006 MY.  Not a Type S, but light car, and probably can be modded.  Takes regular too...

Floored it on an on ramp. The VTEC sounds goooood, but man, where is the power AND torque?  :'(

200 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 166 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm... that explains it.  :P  :-[

Not bad numbers for the times, new model like that BRZ has the same numbers, and 15tq less!  and weights 100lbs more.

And a lot better than the Celica GTS, 180hp, 130tq @ 6,800 rpm.

Checked the tire pressures.

Zooming down the 401 and the TPMS warning came on.  Slowed up, carried on to destination ( 10 km). Tires looked OK and none of them felt warm at all. Had supper. Drove home carefully (50 km) , 401 at 80 Km/h even when it is not busy, is frightening...all these enormous trucks wooshing past. I reckoned that the tire would stay intact as advertised for that distance.
Got home, checked pressures, 3 ok and one a bit high (4 psi)  reset that and went for a short drive to "reset the TPMS"

The TPMS on the B-class is driven from the ABS. If the ABS went wrong I would expect that a warning message and light would light up before or at the same time as the TPMS so I presume that is ok.

Man, I would be much more terrified of driving 80km/h on the 401 than doing 100 on a tire that has a little less air in it, assuming the car drove normally.

Yep.   20:45 and obviously a light evening for trucks.   Funny that a couple of cars came up behind me and settled down to my cruise controlled 80 km/h for a couple of KMs before, I guess, looking at their speedometer and passing.   I did not have the 4 way flashers on.

Seems a little overly cautious; I would have taken a look at the tires, confirmed that there was nothing majorly wrong (like a complete flat) and went on my merry way. In the days before those silly TPMS sensors you likely wouldn't have had any idea anything was off for weeks or months until you actually made the effort to manually check the pressures.

No tire gauge / pump in the car? I thought MBs came with them.

Well no.   I am one who does check the pressures regularly. I have never had a rft car with TPMS before but from reading I knew that the car ought to be driveable unless the tire disintegrated but would get hot and supposedly would do 80 kms.  So I did what I considered the most prudent thing.

And of course the car doesn't have TPMS sensors it uses the ABS to detect wheel speed.  If it had individual sensors then it would probably have been a tire failure and I would have been on the side of the road calling M-B assistance rather than driving.

I did not have my gauge in the car and the B does not come with a pump.

Ordered a full round of Koni FSD shocks. I was told that the delivery time could be several weeks so I'm not sure when I can get them actually installed, which is a bit of a bummer. Oh well.

You could probably get away with a RSX coupe for the first few years at least until the kids take up hockey.  ;)  No 3rd car for me either unless it is a Smart car.  That's all I have room for on the driveway and city bylaws limit overnight street parking.
