That does not look like a good time...

Not uncommon on FWD units that the whole bloody guts come out to deal with say a leaking transfer case.  Think Nissan Murano.  22 hours book time for a transfer case seal.   :rofl2:

Careful what you buy.

Can't figure out how I'm going to get out the 3 remaining screws holding the torque converter on.  Engine won't budge, no room behind the flex plate to work.
Had to drop everything out the bottom as I couldn't separate engine from tranny in place.  By everything I mean engine/tranny, exhaust,  sub-frame, steering, suspension.

Used the truck to drag home a free play structure for the kids.

I suspect all the transverse engined AWD SUVs suffer from some form of that.  My HL has a book of something around 12hrs to R&R the transfer case and replace the seals.

After driving my car with my Hans on I realized my neck was killing me because I have to hold it up.  Head gets pushed back rather strongly.

So I found a spacer painted it black, threaded a piece of rod and extended the headrest on the car to hold my head up.

Looks good.  Does the seat or pedal box adjust forward/backward?
Don't fight it.  The sooner you get it the better.

Yeah I have the seat all the way forward, that's why the headrest had to come forward.  I fixed the pedals, the box does move but it's a huge PITA

Is it speed limited?  The Germans have a whole thing abut the 250km/h mark, but some special models leave the factory uncorked.  AMG used to neuter all of them, and then sell you an ECU mod to unleash it.  For about $2-3K  depending on model!!  Robbery!!  My C36 would run into the limiter at 250 pretty hard, so I thought about the mod, then found out what the cost was for the extra 25 or so km/h.  Ouch!!!

A friend of mine had a modded E55 and we saw 301 via GPS.  Solid as a rock.  I had the Porsche to about 270, but man, that car was HAIRY at that speed.  Porsche said the body (whale tail, etc) was to help high speed stability, so I'd hate to have seen what a standard coupe would have been like at those speeds.  Undriveable, methinks.

The Miata is great to 150, starts to get a little light after that, and a little scary over 180...

How have you guys not had your licenses revoked by the local constabulary?

Maybe I'm just not brave (stupid?) enough to push those sorts of chances with an LEO. Highest I got to was 225 but that was in Deutscheland.

The right place at the right time.  I've gone over 300 a few times (motorcycles) and over 200 many times, but only on certain roads and at certain times.

Its the risk rewards thing. It has been 4 years since I have been over 220 and when I had the opportunity...go. I was simply amazed how smooth the TT-RS was, I want more. I'm sure the speedo overestimated the speed by 5-10%

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Nope.  These places (where I go) have long range visibility, and at the time of day I go, a few scouting runs at low speed to ensure the road is clear of debris, etc does the trick.  If there is another car present, you'd be able to see it at least a full km away.  The road is well cleared back from the shoulder and fenced, so there is very little chance of wild life.

The road has a smooth surface and if you were to make a goof, you'd stuff yourself and that's it.  Very little risk of collateral damage.  There's a few places like this around the province, some of them quite long, some only a few kms.  A good time is first light on a Sunday morning.

I was caught by RCMP at 241 in a 100 zone when I was much, much younger.  Learned my lesson about going really, really fast.  Not to not do so, but about when and where...

I take it they don't use laser radar out your way?  The easily can shoot you from 1 mile away.
