Swapped the tires on the truck.  The wide 18s are a lot more to handle than the narrow 17s on the CRV.  One tire was down to 15psi after sitting all winter.  I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Swapped out the winter tires at last.   Neighbor's 4 years-old was fascinated with the tire change process.

Swapped the winters for summers on the gti. Drives a lot better.

I really like the Blizzak WS70's on the Miata. Not so much the Blizzak LM-32's on the GTI (the cheaper WS70's were not available). Hmm.... It might just be the cars, wheel size, etc. At any rate, I'm downsizing once I get my hands on some nice OEM take-off rims (and these Blizzak's wear out), and will get other tires next time.

Funny how 19" inch winters on the M3 felt great (LM-60's) but 18" winters on the GTI felt pretty bad (LM-32's, the replacement for LM-60's)...

Vacuumed and cleaned the carpets and mats.

Vinegar and warm water, took a while but got most of the gunk out of it.

After Friday I realized I needed to get my headrest forward instead of trying to hold my neck up.

So I found some threaded rod in the garage, rethreaded it to be metric.  Found a steel tube painted it black and voila.  Headrest moved forward about 3-4 inches but looks factory.

Swapped the Firebird to summers, washed and waxed the winters for storage.

Spent another 3 hours drilling away at the broken exhaust stud on the Sonoma...another 1/2 hour with the torch and big ass hamer. No dice, so I gave up on it, I can't afford anymore time on it. I had plans to bring it into the shop to have a new steering box installed in a couple weeks, I guess I'll get this taken care of then too.

I just found out about the Run the Runway event in Smith Falls in August, but it was sold out 22 hours after registrations were opened.

@ norman - fearful of a little speed?    Huh, all that power and only 56 kmh faster than my Sonic... ;D  We were chatting the other day at work and no biggie, yeah, I've done 250+ kmh...and one of the girls is like, "Holy..." To me it's, "yeah so?" ...to her it's "I've never gone faster than 130" (really? I do that passing with a camper in tow...sheesh...) I only don't know how fast the Fusion is as it only reads 200 and I'm sure it'll go past it.

I'm not sure the speed would scare me (not in a car like that, been up to 220 in a F30 328i MSport), but the Fantino would.

Saturday:  Swapped out the old headlight bulbs (one popped that morning).  Cursed as I had to do it in a light misting rain.  :(

Sunday:  Cursed even more as I realized that I could have done them today as the predicted rain did not materialize.  >:( :surrend:

Monday (Today):  Dropped off my car for servicing and tire swap.

I finally got around to taking a few bits apart.
Looks like the replacement engine from Hotch's Auto parts has seized up solid, two days after the warranty ran out.

Very odd that an engine that new would seize solid.

Can't figure out how I'm going to get out the 3 remaining screws holding the torque converter on.  Engine won't budge, no room behind the flex plate to work.
Had to drop everything out the bottom as I couldn't separate engine from tranny in place.  By everything I mean engine/tranny, exhaust,  sub-frame, steering, suspension.

Very odd that an engine that new would seize solid.

We had it put in at a garage as we were time-contstrained.  There was a tiny squeak present that I thought was a bearing on a belt idler or alternator, but the engine ran fine for 8000km, then the squeak got louder one day and I had to get towed back home, engine running like crap with no power.  I restarted it at home, bad noises came out.   I removed accessory belt to see if it was something being turned by it, again suspecting alternator.  It finally seized up when I was just turning it on the starter, came to a clank and can't be turned in either direction.

Bought it from Hotch's, supposedly only had 140k on it or so.

I gotta give you credit, that's a much bigger job than I would have tackled.
Not sure what kinda clearane (if any) you've got for those torque converter bolts, but can you get the edge of a cut-off wheel in there? Just cut the heads off so you can at least get the converter off - probably not enough access, I am just trying to be helpful :)
