I've had the P0421/P0431 codes on the Mitsubishi for years but didn't bother with them (they don't impact disability). However I thought I would try out the Liqui Moly cat converter cleaning solution out of curiosity. This is the one you spray directly into the throttle body while engine is running at 2500-3000 rpm (not the one you put in the gas).
It looks like it does something but it may require a follow up. The code for one bank disappeared but the other one came back. Will monitor for a while and go from there. I also followed up with a can of the cleaning agent which you put in the gas, as recommended by Liqui Moly.

Anyone here tried this or similar product?

The only additives that I believe in are fuel stabilizer/ethanol fuel treatments for cars only driven seasonally (especially older cars that are sensitive to ethanol). Maybe a fuel system cleaner with PEA in it to keep injectors clean. The rest of these products do nothing more than drain your wallet.

I give a quick bath to my 2014 Volt aka "Ma belle Brune" once back at home, for unknown reason she was very dusty after only a day at work..
Gone but not forgotten in chronological order: 2019 Volt, 2013 Volt, 2014 Spark EV, 2012 Volt and many others before...

Took the MGB and XKR to 'EuroFest', it's the biggest annual European car show in the 'mid south', good turn out with maybe 400 cars. Had a great time, saw some great cars, and spent time with some friends. I didn't realize it was a judged show, so the only prep I did was wash the wheels on the MGB the night before...So I was shocked when both cars took home some hardware. 1st place in 1975+ Jaguars and 2nd place in MGB.

Coolest car there, IMO, was this Austin Healey 100-6 that was used as a hill-climb car in Arkansas back in the 60's and 70's, retired to a barn, and then revived by a young lady and her mom....Lots of fancy stuff here deep into the 6-figures, but IMO this sort of car blows that away. Wish I got better photos of it.

lol, I keep meaning to get a pair, but haven't gotten around to it, I hate shopping. I have an old pair of Dakota work boots I wear when I need to. The others wear theirs all the time because they're scared of getting bitten by whatever is in the grass...

Congrats on the trophies.

Did the front shocks on the boy's Tercel. They were the insert type so you have to disassemble the whole strut. So annoying ... but done. The nut was a pain to get off.

Oil change and de-NUT-ification today. Found a horse chestnut near an oil access tray. What if there is more?  :foil:

Installed a FUMOTO oil drain valve last change and used it today for the first time. It was a lot more convenient than dumping oil in a plastic pan. There is still a filter but that's a minor inconvenience relatively speaking.

Oil change for me too! Back to the good stuff (Amsoil) after I had the last change done at the dealer because of my janky back.

What really stands out is the quality of the oil filter build compared to OEM. The Amsoil synthetic filter is built like a tank! Metal endcaps, perforated metal core, huge o-rings. Even the included canister o-ring is beefier.

Interesting. I'm sticking with OE for now (warranty), even make a trip to the dealer in order to have that Toyota print-out so it looks good among my receipts.

Who makes the Amsoil filter?
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.
