Woke the Lebaron up today from its winter slumber. Was greeted with a misfire. Got a decent zap when I touched one of the plug wires. Yep, date coded 1985 mopar originals. So it sports a set of shiny new blue wires. All set for cruise season 2024. Joy!  ;D

So what did I do to my car today?

Continued the replacement of the Ridgeline's original suspension piece by piece. Honda or not joints and rubber wear out. I had an awful squeak which was traced down to the rear passenger stabilizer link. Not exactly easy but 1 hour of heat and swearing it was off and the new Honda OE went on in 2 minutes.  ;D It was such a bear I only did the one, getting old.  ;D . I will replace the other when I eventually tackle the rear struts.

Good work!

Noticed a little spot on the driveway under the Escalade last night....Trans fluid. Traced the leak to a trans cooler line leaking at a crimp, so I've ordered a new replacement ($10 on Rock). The annoying part is that I replaced that same line in 2016 with a Dorman part, I guess 8 years isn't terrible, but doing the job a second time is rather irritating.

Ugh. That’s not a fun job either. Those trans lines are a pain.

Yeah, fortunately it's the one that runs from the radiator to the auxiliary cooler, not the ones that go back to the trans. So it's the easiest of the set to replace.

Did a AFM delete today on my new to me Silverado. Neat little $90 muzzler from Amazon that simply plugs into the OBD port. With AFM I averaged about 13L/100 mixed driving (the ecotec 3 5.3) and just over 10L on highway trips. Let’s see how badly my mileage will suffer with the muzzler installed.

Gas guzzling, extra down force, travel mode all set up for Arizona/Utah.  Car was clean but thanks to snow flurries yesterday, a lot of road salt collected this morning.

Sweet, interested to hear about the results.

A good friend put a similar setup on his Model Y, said his range went down by 35% on the highway. Amazing what rooftop stuff costs in aerodynamics.

A great lesson in physics  ;D

I generally lose between 1-2 L/100 depending on speed/wind. I cap my speed at 120 kph unless i need to get out of the way.

I can believe that for sure.

Day one with the muzzler. Took a trip to Kelowna and back (80km). Lots of heavy traffic as usual. 13.7 isn’t bad at all. Plus, the truck no longer goes into V4 which helps the feel immensely on the highway. Most probably can’t feel that transition between 4 and 8, but I do and glad it’s gone! Worth every penny if you own a GM with AFM.

Money well spent. I hated the AFM on my G8, first thing I addressed.

Nice! That gauge cluster is one of my favorites BTW, it's a good layout with analog gauges showing all the critical info right across the top.
