Great pics. He needs a serious lesson with some rubber bullets or his future is being a rug.

Yeah, there’s been a mom with two cubs around for the past year or two. Looks like mom has ditched the cubs.

Oil and filter on the Volvo. AS far as these go I would rate it a 8.

Plastic shield: Standard although a collection of mismatched fasteners as previous jobs lost/stripped them

Drain plug location. Good, easy access although the turbo hose was in way a smidge.

Filter location: A cartridge from top and lets just say a little tight getting it out. In the end the filter needed  to come out before the cartridge cap could be twisted and maneuvered out. Then filter could be jiggled out. Not ideal with a drippy old filter. I loosened the cartridge cover and let it drain for a couple of hours to minimize mess. Almost 7L back in. Volvo put a big sump on these. Put Mobil1 EP high mileage in. Only going to do that dance once a year.  ;D

Had couple of small things done on the BMW today:
- Replaced the leaky high-pressure power steering hose and along with it the reservoir and the power steering fluid flush
- Brake fluid flush
- Front and rear stabilizer links
My parts and fluids, shop's labor.

On to troubleshooting an annoying intermittent noise that fades in and out while at a stop after the car was driven for a while. I think I traced it to the A/C but not sure yet as I need to drive it more and see if the noise only comes on when the A/C is on...

Went for a little rifle shoot this weekend and the road in was a gooey, muddy mess. Man did the Ridgeline impress me, with the new KO2s on it and the AWD, thing did spectacularly. Even my buddy with lifted Wrangler Rubicon on 37s was quite impressed that my Pilot with a birth defect had zero issues. I am still completely satisfied with choosing this vehicle. The best part was dropping the vehicle off for an oil change at the dealer yesterday, the tech said I am the only one that comes in to a Honda dealer that looks like they actually use their Ridgeline like an actual truck and laughed at the few errant rounds of brass rolling in the truck bed.
Lighten up Francis.....

...that my Pilot with a birth defect ...

Ha, that made me chuckle.

Yep, 8k. Going to run Mobil1 since its got my civic to nearly 250k and counting trouble free. Perhaps more impressive is it got the Acadia to nearly 200k trouble free as well. Gm 3.6L v6 known for timing chain issues and carbon buildup. 0w16 pours like canola oil lol!

I think Toyota doesn't do the oil monitor countdown thing and just sticks with 8K or 6 months.  Overall I think that works the best for Canadian usage.

They don't have the maintenance minder codes like Honda, just a straight countdown with a generic maintenance reminder every 8k/6mnths. However, the recommended "maintenance" at 8k is just a bunch of visual inspections. Recommended oil and filter change interval is 16k but I definitely won't be waiting that long. Plan is to keep the van for at least 10 years, hopefully more.

Had Bilstein 5100s installed on the Tundra today. Was looking at other options initially (such as Bilstein 6112 or equivalent) but decided they’d be a bit of a waste seeing how I use the truck. Anyway, the 5100s allow for three settings for lifting the front. I went with the mid setting so it’s slightly more level and took out some of the rake. Truck rides much better as the old shocks were tired.

My plan is for new wheels and all terrain tires in the spring. New winters will be going on in the next couple weeks.

^^ Looks like you're keeping the truck. Nice.

Anyone here have experience with 3D MAXspider floor liners from Costco?

https://www.costco.ca/3d-maxpider-mat-custom-fit-all-weather-car-mats%3b-row-1-and-2-only.product.10367254.html

They're having a sale right now ($40 off once you add to your cart) and I'm thinking of getting them for my new-to-me winter vehicle.

I was dead set on the Findway floor liners but these are a tad cheaper (with Costco no brainer warranty). I do think the smooth look of the 3D ones look kinda cheap.

WOW!  No idea that was a Toyota thing.  How stupid.

Nice, I think you made the right call to toss a little money at it and keep it. Some more aggressive looking rims and beefy all terrains would really look good.

^ Thanks, and I agree.

I’ll also be putting on fender flares. Not that I want to, but with the gravel I drive on the way to the lake my fender lips are already getting chewed up. I’ll get some low profile OE style ones from Bushwacker. Crazy how expensive they are.

Rrocket has been tossing some other ideas at me, but he must have boatloads of money because they are all really spendy  :rofl2: :P

I woke up early this morning and took my car for a spin to get some fresh air. I drove to a nearby park and parked under a tree. I rolled down the windows and listened to the birds sing. It was so peaceful. After a while, I got out of my car and went for a walk. I enjoyed the beautiful weather and the scenery.

When I got back to my car, I decided to give it a little wash. I filled up a bucket of soapy water and started scrubbing. I washed the body, the windows, and the wheels. Once it was all clean, I dried it off with a microfiber towel. My car looked and smelled great!

After I finished washing my car, I decided to take it for a drive to the beach. I love driving down the coast with the windows down and the wind in my hair. I parked my car in the lot and walked down to the beach. I spent the afternoon swimming, sunbathing, and building sandcastles.

When it was time to go home, I got back in my car and drove back slowly, enjoying the sunset. I'm so grateful to have such a great car. It allows me to go on adventures and explore new places.
