Yes, it bolts in place of the OEM bumper and also connects to the factory hitch mounting points on either side.

Switched out the amber side lights for smoked ones, and popped in some puddle lights.  Not sure if I’ll keep those ones, but they did give my family a good laugh leaving a restaurant last night    ;D

Are smoked side lights legal? Just curious, they do look better.

"yes"  ;D

I think they are because they still light up amber

Overall appearance and retaining the use of the kick sensor definitely made the higher cost and more difficult installation well worth it in my books. I'm going to need a new drawbar though as even after I flipped my 4" drop bar to a 2" riser bar, the ball sits a bit low for my boat trailer

Same on a Cayenne.  BTW, my Cayenne also has smoked lights

I think the actual terminology is Receiver.  The Receiver slides into the hitch Receiver.  A draw bar typically attaches to two trailing arms.  Regardless, I have a bin full of different receivers because every trailer has a different relationship to different vehicles.  At least the trailer industry has moved to a standard 2 inch ball!

Interesting! So it basically replaces what bumper there is. Probably not a bad thing

Shame bumpers are going back to 'hit and bend' type of olden days, especially so close to a hatch. My Vibe had nothing more than a layer of styrofoam under the bumper cover, but that absorbed the hit of a deer dead on and you couldn't see a sign of it until you pushed on the cover at the right spot

Welcome to "light truck" regulations were actual bumpers aren't required!

That's been going on for decades. They should impose 5 mph bumpers on everything that's used as a passenger car.

Very neat install. Nice work!

Changed transfer case and front differential fluid on the Tundra last night.  Fluid came out nearly as clear as the new stuff going in.  Seems like such a waste but it had been a few years since the last change so I did it.  Super easy to do besides having to be under the truck with minimal room to work and crud falling from the frame and components underneath.  I used the Amsoil easy packs which allows you to simply squeeze the oil from the packaging rather than pumping from a bottle.  Speeds up the process.

I also greased the front/rear driveshafts.

Squeeze bags are good. If I know the diffs have not been submerged then I replace every 100k kms on the Rovers. The ridgeline transfer capacity is tiny (600mL) so it gets done when the maintenance minder pops up which is around 50k kms. Fluid mostly comes out looking new.

Congrats on the new pet! Looks cuddly... is he soft?  :)

Is this an everyday occurrence or do you high tail it indoors?

Not everyday, but not uncommon. We’ve caught them on our doorbell camera a few times too.

I was obviously a little cautious when I saw him, but not overly concerned. He didn’t seem at all interested in me, so I just kept my distance as he cruised by.

Yeah, there’s been a mom with two cubs around for the past year or two. Looks like mom has ditched the cubs.

Curious describes him perfectly. He was just cruising around, checking stuff out. Kinda sad, because it’s likely not going to end well for the guy. He seems pretty used to being around town and around people, which is never a good thing. He’ll likely end up being relocated.

My wife followed him down the alley and got some better pics.

It looks so plush and pettable  :P
