The Audi is finished. Looks spectacular. So difficult to photograph how "white" the paint now looks.

Beautiful car.  One of the few FWD cars with the right proportions.
Bubba...ours is AWD with a 6 speed manual and V6

Not really, in their basic design, they came FWD,  but were also always meant to have quattro.  Blurry line IMO

FWD?

FWD architecture with AWD, although the engine is placed longitudinally here.

Yeah, I guess, I just remember seeing the longitudinal engine.    Did they sell many (any) in FWD in Canada?

The A5 was never offered here with FWD IIRC. You could get a FWD A4 here though.

Interesting fact; the FrontTrak A4s were actually CVT! Dreadful things...

Drove one at a Lexus event. They had it to compare vs. Base IS.

I called them out for cherry picking the worst car. LOL [emoji38]

Good day today, beautiful weather. Got the green MGB all cleaned up and took Firm Jr. for a nice ride on the backroads to the garden center. Also snuck the Sonoma out for it's first ride of the year.

Took the MX-5 out on a trip to Perth, Westport and Kingston. Beautiful roads and so close to Ottawa. The best part is no traffic!

I did get caught in a torrential downpour and the MX-5 is quite dicey in the rain, even with brand new Michelin AS3+'s. It must be the weight (~2450 lbs) and short wheelbase. No nannies either, not even ABS.

That Sonoma is a different rid, in great shape. . What do you use it for? I noticed the tonneau and it doesn't look like truck things. Town run about?

It was my DD through highschool, university and the first year or two of my working career. It's not setup to do much real work; fiberglass tonneau, bedrug, big sub box in the ext. cab. No hitch and the factory 'ZQ8' 1.5" drop. Before we had the Escalade I'd use it for hauling building supplies, landscape stuff, ikea runs, etc. Now the Escalade does most of that and the Sonoma is mostly used just for whipping around town when I am alone, or with the one kiddo. It's a pain to jockey the cars around to get it out of the garage, so it spends a lot of time sitting. Fun little truck though, and if it wasn't for the shitty parking situation I'd drive it a lot more.

The Duramax recently tripped a ABS light, a quick scan said left front wheel speed sensor. Time for a new hub assembly. Fairly easy job.

Got the order from RA on Friday and tackled the job today. First thing I noticed was some wetness on the inside of the rim, ahh, a leaky calliper that needs replaced. Then I had to beat the rotor off with a sledgehammer, so add two new rotors and pads to the list. Get everything off and discover a split CV boot, now add a new axle to the shopping list. Get everything back together and find some play in the lower ball joint….grrr

Ate a big rock at the top of the windscreen. Each day the crack grows. Going to need a replacement :(

Funny part. I was in traffic waiting to exit the highway and took this seconds before the off ramp. Pulled over and saw the rock still on the roof of the car thanks to the roof box as I heard it bouncing off the roof, then box, repeat.

Quarter for scale.

Tried one of those parking lot windshield repair people? We've had very good luck so far with them, if it hasn't spread to far beyond the bulls eye

It has already spider-webbed out to the edge of the windshield.  I think it's cooked.

Ya, there is no band-aid solution for this. The crack went from an inch to probably 10 inches in a couple of days. I haven't driven for the last two days so I haven't looked at how well it is progressing.
