Took the last toy out for the season and enjoyed a nice night out for dinner in downtown Burlington.

Got new Vantage S wheels this year too

Am I missing something or if I'm in the right direction with below rotor & pad brake parts shopping list?
ps: ignore the (2) front sway bar link kit (2104) & wiper switch it is for my son 2015 Volt

Raybestos E3 stuff is 'fine'. Just make sure you follow a complete and thorough break-in procedure. Those E3 pads are a ceramic formula (ignore the marketing, they are) that's really mild on the rotors. On the other hand, those rotors have a coating (I think it's Geomet) that's on there pretty good, so if you don't fully break-in there's a high risk of ending up with highspots on the rotor in areas where the coating took longer to burn off, and/or got burnt in.

I did E3 pads & rotors on the front of the DTS when I first got it. I did the swap at our training shop in an industrial area of Vaughan, and finished right around rush hour, so the roads where way too busy to do a proper break-in. I figured it'd be fine, drove home, few thousand kms later I had pulsation and it was pretty obvious that the rotors had developed high spots. Swapped the rotors out (used Pro Series OE+ from PartSource) and re-used the E3 pads, and they've been fine since (~30K on them). The pads do perform pretty well, dust is very minimal and stopping power is great. My rears (which I've never touched) are getting pretty low now, so I've got a PowerStop kit on it's way for all 4 corners.

Replaced the cabin air filter on a 2016 Volvo XC60. A serious process even with shortcuts.  I would like to punch the engineer in the face who designed that. No way are express lube shops replacing these when customers ask or pay ( ;)) for it.

Yup. Similar to the Ridgeline or LR4

On the Volvo the filter housing is in behind the center stack (done this way I am sure to accommodate LHD and RHD models.

We start under the glovebox.

You need to remove two screws, remove trim piece.
Unplug a few wiring pig tails
reach back and yank hard a complete fuse panel to relocate it and push it out of the way.

You now have access to the cabin filter access door.

Even with all the stuff above moved out of the way to remove and install filter it needs to be scrunched and bent 90 degrees and at a slight upward angle. You then feed it in 1/2" at a time. Hopefully you didn't destroy the new filter in the process.

Then reinstall everything.

Looks like this was the original or perhaps someone replaced it once before.

I did my tire switchover last night.  I think this will.be the last season for the OEM Yokohama Geolanders - two of the tires are almost down the wearbars, and they're starting to crack between the treads.  I think I'll get this summer out of them though.  We don't have any big roadtrips in the car planned.

Then this morning I took it for a full service interior/exterior wash.  I WAS planning on taking it to the dealer for a full detail, but then I went and bought a very expensive mountain bike, so the detail will wait until next year, lol.

I hate dump runs. Chance of picking up screw/nails is high.

Swapped the tires on the 2014 Accent. This is a set we picked up used pre-pandemic, oem GLS Alloys with oem 195/50R16 Hankooks. I skipped the rotation and reinstalled the better ones in the front to reduce aquaplaning. The tires are date-coded 2017, so still ok otherwise. That car was purchased back in 2019 when my eldest started doing sub teacher gigs during her studies. I drive it half the time, using it as my stay-behind car when I have pressers. The brakes - discs at all corners - had been done right before we bought it. The rears are now scored pretty badly, maybe a combination of quality of the job / parts and too much sitting; fronts are fine. Oil change, rear brakes are due, and the rust on the left rear fender that we had done at a body shop last November is bubbling again (same shop did the van, and it's impeccable). Will call them up today. Otherwise, that car is a tough little cockroach that always start right up after sitting for weeks and it heats up fast in winter, ditto with cooling in the summer.

This weekend I decided to take the time to clean my winter steel rims for our two vehicles and touch them up with black paint.  Even though this was their first winter, they still have a couple of spots that had rust on them.  I have learned that to keep the looking half way decent you have to do this yearly.

My MIL, 87, still has the 2009 Rogue S awd that FIL (r.i.p.) bought new. She still drives locally, running errands (and maybe a few curbs  ;D). The thing is old-person mint (ie not a speck of rust but scratches in the corners). Yesterday I checked the state of her tires and I'm surprised the mobile shop accepted to install her snow tires last year - they are date-coded 2008  :o So they were one year old already when FIL bought them new. No visible cracks, and plenty of thread due to maybe 200-300 km/year. If even that. I remembered tires being bought before my FIL passed, but it turns out these are the all-seasons, date coded 2013. So I just advised MIL to stay off the highway (don't think she would go there anyway) and just drive on the snows this summer. Local streets are all 30-40 km/h. We'll just mount new snows next fall. We'll see about the all-seasons if she's still fit to drive in 2024.
