Nice.

How many km's you have on that thing?  Pads on our MDX have a lot of life left front and rear with 125k kms.  Our '03 Pilot went to 175k km's before I did the rear.  I did the rears on the Tundra at about the same, fronts went longer.
Only 50k kms on it right now. Lotsa city driving I'm guessing did them in. Fronts look great though.

I just used mine on a Porsche transmission.
Somehow I have 3 pretty good 1/2" torque wrenches, but my 3/8" and 1/4" are PowerFist.   Seem to work fine though.

Ridgeline got a drain and fill of transmission fluid (3.5L) #7 over it's 200k km lifetime. Honda's transmission maintenance schedule is weird. It calls for 3 drain and fills in short order (at 100k kms) to get 99% of the old fluid out. I just do one drain and fill roughly every 30k kms (2 years). Easy peasy to do as the drain bolt is a 3/8" socket so no stripping and the fill is easily reached within the engine bay. Takes about 20 mins taking your time. No filters in the transmission just a magnet on the drain bolt, similar to a motorcycle.

Need to do the 0.5L transfer case oil soon but I am waiting on stock of Royal Purple 75W-90 to replenish. There seems to be a run on that stuff.

No owners do that.  That's the problem and a big one it is.   I acquired a V6 Saab (GM tranny) with 200K km and it took 24 liters before the colour turned dark red.

Yeah, I think Honda's have been like that for awhile. No replaceable filter. Just an internal screen.

So would a Honda dealer do that during a routine Transmission drain and fill service? Or is it just what it says - drain old fluid and fill with fresh?

I took the MX-5 out today for the first time this year. She still drives great.  :)

The standard procedure is looney: Drain and fill (3.5L). Run vehicle on lift through all gears to make sure fluid circulates. Drain and fill again with 3.5L running through all gears. Drain and fill a third time.

I think most shops (dealers?)  do a fluid replacement through the cooler lines or a "flush" even though Honda recommends against flushes.

Big time.  Toyota's have never had a valve body filter.  Only the D3 got into that dumb stuff with no drain plug.

Which OEM dealers do what is the question?  Being that tranny fluid is now "lifetime"  :P   Replacement via cooler lines via the transmission pump, is cool, but seriously how many owners opt for that?  "Flushes" are a product of the aftermarket vultures like Midas, Mr. Lube et al.

Huh. I guess every automatic I've had has been D3, or Euro. So I am used to dropping the pan and dealing with the stupid filter element thing.

Ya, the whole dropping the pan/fluid all over the place/gasket thing actually discourages owners from going near the transmission.

Eliminating the tranny dipstick is really the nail in the coffin for actual transmission maintenance. So stupid.

Vaguely remember balancing that cakepan full of hot thin transmission fluid to change the filter underneath, cursing whoever thought no drain plug was a good idea. Not a fun job to be sure

I made sure my replacement pan (filter integrated into pan  ::)) for the LR4 had a drain bolt. Enough of that!

finally got around to fixing paint chips on the merc.

must have had a hundred of them.

since it's white, it's hard to tell at a glance where the chips are.... so i marked all of them with painters tape before cleaning them with alcohol.

then fill them in with few layers of paint/clearcoat mix.

sand sand it down with 2000 grit sandpaper, wetsanding.  i made a mistake of using 200 grit paper to clean out a few bigger chips.... and scratches so deep now, i now have to make repair on repair...  probably need to add more clear then sand down until it's all filled in again.

then meguires compound on 3 inch pad on drill.

on some areas you can't even tell i fixed the paint.  but on some bigger ones, you can tell there was paint chip.

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D
