Gave both vehicles a good wash yesterday.  Took the car to the auto-wash and truck to the manual spray booth.  Car had a thick layer of highway crust on it after an unplanned road trip last week to Moncton during a light snowstorm.  Just enough snow to keep things messy.   Truck was almost as bad but grey hides dirt better, and it's a truck, and is basically back to the same today.  ;D

I still like the GS!

What about you? How's it treating you?

It's been a great car Ron!  Really no complaints at all.  Nothing but general maintenance for the most part.  It did need a new rear caliper last year, but that's almost expected for a 9yr old car in this climate.  Just over 160k km on it now.

Thanks Gents! Was great to hear the V8 roar while the traction control light was going off like a strobe light in a disco

Not me, but my brother bought something cool. He'd been saving and looking for something like this for awhile now, he works hard / saves hard, so really happy for him. Not a bad car to have around either  ;D

Very cool.  Do you know any of the details?  Year, model, is it automatic, AWD?

I bet even if you had the money that wouldn’t be the car you’d buy.

Yeah, I don't know a ton about it, it's a 2007 Nero edition (special color scheme and black/white diamond stitched interior), e-gear, AWD (I think).

In the right circumstances I'd own something like this, but even though my brother and I are very close, and we work together, we're in very different places in our lives. He's single, lives at home, and makes good money, so dropping 6-figures into a car like this isn't a big deal for him - and the trade-offs are pretty low. I have a house and 3 dependents to think about, but also very different goals....Cars have never been a 'goal' for me, they've been a fun (and cheap) hobby and a means to make some extra $ on the side, but never in my life have I viewed acquiring a certain car as a goal....Financially, I've had 4 keys goals that I've held since I was a teenage, and that's always been the focus (1) own a home outright (done), (2) earn enough and have the financial security for Mrs.Firm to stay home and raise our kids the way I was raised (done), (3) purchase a property (outright) with a couple acres that'll support the shop/garage space to really enjoy the car hobby (that's next!) and (4) have enough capital invested to comfortably live off the interest/dividends so I can comfortably retire no later than 55. Those are the goals, and I really have very little interest in things that don't help to get us there.

All of those are very good goals to have indeed.

What did you do to your car today?

Those are some great goals Firm! I definitely had/have some very similar myself. I’m thankful for what I did get off my “list” but by far the most important was allowing my wife to stay home and raise all our kids. Maybe some here don’t know, but we have 8 kids, from 4 to 23 (and he’s moved out).

And congrats to the bro for a sick car. Look on the bright side, you can get rides and maybe even drive it without any of the financial strain and heartburn such a car may cause.

Jesus man, 8 kids!  All with the same woman?  That definitely makes more sense for your wife to stay home, daycare after like 1-2 kids gets so much that it becomes a lot more attractive for a parent to stay home and raise the kids.

I bet the Lambo will be a lot like a boat, so much better having a friend/relative who owns one.

Awesome. The Gallardo still looks great.

Would look even better without the front plate.  :D

Been running on five cylinders for the last couple days and couldn't get an appointment at my mechanic until Monday so on the way home from work I grabbed a coil pack and spark plug from Napa. Headed to my buddy's house down the road to use his garage after dinner and it turns out the coil pack was just loose. Car is back to running smoothly.

Good deal  :D Except for shopping at Napa ;)
