Getting antsy for spring already. Yesterday was warm enough to play outside just a little, so I topped up the oil in the front shocks of the green MGB (yes, the lever style shocks take oil), one was a bit bouncy and this stiffened it right up. No signs of a leak, but I'll have to keep an eye on it...I use Jack Oil with a mild stop-leak in it, usually does the trick. I also started it up and let it run for 20 minutes or so...Been sitting in the driveway for about 6-7 weeks and fired right up. Impressed with whoever last adjusted the choke/carb.

I would love to see a 15" tire that even Dent considers 'done". Steel belts showing?  ;D

I guess we'll find out on the hub bore in the spring. I did a quick measurement and they looked ok but 1mm might not have been noticeable. I'll take a photo of the 15" tires but the shoulders were quite bad since we took it auto-x'ing as well. The Elantra has some good body roll and looks of tire roll with the tall side walls.

New front bumper? Did you have an accident?

I've been doing research on some suspension upgrades for the Miata. NC1 suspension is very soft, has tons of body roll and also has a large wheel gap. A proper coilover or spring+shock/strut kit, plus install, is quite costly. Limited options in Canada too.

Been there done that. Had an NC ,lowered it with Mazdaspeed springs. You will scrape on everything. You could start with better sway bars.
Yes it is pricey here in Canada. The worse thing I found with the NC was the bump steer in the turns.

Same experience here.  I found my NC to be too roly-poly and the wheel gap too unsightly, so i went for the Mazdaspeed springs.  They did solve both my wishes, but as Seafoam said, I had to be very careful to not scrape the belly on speed bumps after that. Would I do it again in the same scenario? Yeah, probably.  ;)

I just saw a set of Ohlins coilover shocks for mine for sale.   Tempting, but it's $2k Canadian.

I think I saw these on FB Marketplace  ;D

Not sure if I'd do springs only - I'd want a full setup, but yeah. $$$$

I have Koni Yellow dampers on my Civic and would highly recommend. In the softest setting they are just about the same as stock. In the stiffest setting you could drive over a coin on the road and know if it was a nickel or a dime! That setting only recommended for the smoothest of roads, it was too stiff for the bumpy autocross track in my experience, YMMV.

Kind of boring lately.. I ordered a new blower motor for the BMW as it started making noises again during a longer drive last week. Intermittent and not too loud yet, but it will only get worse from here I assume.
I already took it out and cleaned it once shortly after I got the car, but I don't feel like taking it out every year or so, so next time is out for cause I will replace it.

RA makes it so :censor: addictive to buy parts.... ;D

Brought home this for the weekend - Jesus Christ what a nice freakin' car. If I didn't have the sentimental attachment to go with the LS 460 (my wife's late grandfather's last car) and have it 100% sorted to perfection, I'd totally snap one of these up, possibly even this exact one, for a many-year daily.
