I put the low bean CSP mini LED into my SW2, 0394 first picture
High beam still original halogen, 0395 second picture

Will test later this evening to see how they are and if need some fine tuning (internal rotation, allen key supplied).

First real long drive Today in dark area and I'm quite impressed with this low beam LED, a huge improvement over old technology!
Funny or bad should I say, how yellow and dull light pattern the the original halogen high beam compare to low beam LED.
"Need" to order high beam LED now.  :P

The Pilot stranded me for the first time on our vacation last week. I had gone into town for provisions and battery couldn't crank the engine...and of course my multi-purpose booster/battery deal was back at the cottage.  Got a boost from CAA, then used my booster the next morning to get to Truro for a replacement.  Vehicle is now on thin ice with my wife, but I think I have convinced her that odds and ends will pop up on a vehicle with 144,000km but the fact that we have no car payments more than makes up for it....

First battery?

You can do a load test in your garage if you own a multimeter.

Yup first battery.  Tow guy CAA sent had one on him and told me to replace it.  Shout out to Century Honda in Truro, understanding I was on vacation and also needed to boost the vehicle to start it, were cheaper than CDN Tire or the local shops (who also couldn't commit to a time frame) and treated me super kindly.  Told me to "show up when I show up", leave the car running, and they had me gone again in 15 minutes.

That's about average. Look at the bright side. You had a no start while the weather was warm.  The Pilot will give years of service now.

That's the idea....getting a few rust spots fixed within the next couple of weeks, then I'll give it a deep clean/detail and should be happy with it for the winter...always counting down to 128 season again.  I go back and forth on replacing it....I lust after a Yukon, but honestly then I'd be into a vehicle payment again and I really don't think I'd be any happier.

Hand washed the Tundra today. I literally hadn’t washed it in months. The colour is very forgiving, however it needed it. Gave the headlights a quick polish once done.

I ordered some detailing products  on recommendation from rrocket because I was getting low, so once received I’ll give it a polish/wax along with the MDX before winter  (hopefully).

Had a bunch of dry weather so I was driving the toys, cycling between them.

Jumped back into the LS460 after maybe ~3 weeks and it felt amazing. Still feels 100%... though needs a wheel balance.

Annual British Car Day was yesterday in Bronte Creek Park (Burlington). I'd never missed a year, till 2019 when I had a work conflict, then the pandemic killed the next two years....So this was a long time coming.

Parked the XKR alongside my dad's XK8, and my brother snuck his MGB out of the MG area and into the Jag section to hang out with us in the shade....Setup a nice picnic behind the cars, just good quality time with the family. Even though it did rain towards the end of the day and got the cars filthy.

Saturday was great weather and I spent the late part of the afternoon running to my buddy's place and back to drop off some stuff....good hour on windy backroads with the t-tops out (for the first time this year!).

Things about to get winterized and put away?

Yeah, because I have quite a few cars to winterize I usually start early October, but I'll keep a couple out  until early November to try and maximize the season. I like to give everything a good interior/exterior detailing before putting them away, so there's a fair bit of time involved in getting them stored. Add to that all the seasonal outdoor stuff that needs to be winterized and I really hate this time of year....

Try and tell myself how much easier fixing/cleaning is now, before fingers freeze, plastic snaps, etc. Edmonton winter usually comes in for good end October, but can be mid Oct some years

Just ordered my Hakka 10 studded tires, will be interested if they help with the freezing rain we got regularly last winter

Did you ever settle on wheels for it? I know you put some large BMW wheels on it...but weren't 100 percent (at the time) if they were for you.

They're gone. It's on the F-Sport 19s on brand new Toyos now. Will probably leave it like that and dump some money into the LC's snows. Old picture but these wheels

I can tell you they are amazing for that freezing rain we had. While the all season peasants were busy sliding into curbs and crashing into each other, I had 100% control of the Wrangler and then the Ridgeline.

1st towing ride for the SW2 under my watch (more than 10 years now) after quite a hot day. I drove it my self first part of the day.

Meanwhile, running at idle park on street to show the young lady the basic of her daily driver for next year or so, the SW2 started streaming steam between right fender & its hood, near to its expansion reservoir, plus spitting some liquid coolant on the street. By precaution of measure after it was turn off and called the CAA to tow it to my proximity mechanic. Unfortunately he is in vacation this week and I don't know how busy his schedule will be the week after. The young Miss was disappointed, Monday August 22nd college starts a new session and she will have to ask friends for lift...

The SW2 is back, invoice under $200, I'm happy with that.

Faulty temperature sensor was misleading the computer and temperature gauge, not starting the thermostatic fan soon enough!
I asked him to replace 20K kms but 11 y.o coolant by the same occasion...

Spotted a mint SL2 at Costco, also silver  :)
