Swapped the tires on the GTI. Wheel lug bolts started rusting so I ordered a new set from Rockauto. The rotors look good after 2&3 winters.... Zimmermann is still good quality stuff...

Need to take care of few dents on both BMW and GTI. Anyone can recommend a good dent removal shop in GTA? If mobile service, even better.

Also exploring the possibility to repaint the front and rear bumpers on the BMW if not too expensive. Any idea of the aprox cost?

Has anyone PPF'd your whole car? I've been considering it for the likes of the 911/Vantage/M5, but I recently learned just how expensive it is to do the whole car, because of the labor involved. My jalopies are all ceramic coated already, but just for that added protection...

My old LR4 has the hood and all leading edges done. For a vehicle subjected to highway sanders/rock throwers for 6 months out of the year it has been great. Not exactly a great finish but this workhorse goes through auto carwashes. At 13 winters in it looks fine from 10' away.  Would I wrap a garage queen? No way.

Totally agree.  My Pilot looks great from that distance, up close it is BEAT UP.  Can't even count the stone chips on the hood I'll be fixing this spring.  Wish it had a film protector on it.

Seems to depend some on the paint. When we were looking at RX's from the 2013-15 gen those without protective film on the hood were almost always chipped badly (so much for Lexus perfecting everything). The 2016 and on generation not nearly so bad

Still, happy the original owner of our 2017 splashed out on film on the front, mirrors, under the door handles, etc

100%. Certain paints are very susceptible to chipping and others less so. My old SLK320, which I babied, seems like I added a chip to the leading edge of the hood every time I drove it...This 02 SLK230 I have now with 175K, leading edge of the hood is also a mess. My XKR, which has ~170K on it, mostly all highway from running between Ontario and Key West, not a mark (no film). My Escalade, with 270K, which spent the first 10 years of it's life in northern Alberta, has hardly anything as well.

Last weekend I swapped tires on the Audi and the Odyssey. Found a nail in one of the van's all-seasons, had it repaired for free at Costco.

Winter was rough on both cars. The girls got the Audi's rear left fender scraped, not sure that it will buff out  :'( And the van is starting to rust in some lower extremities, plus the snows were on their 5th winter and are quite near the snow bars...

Next week the Accent Superleggera is coming back home for the second time in 2022, will get a wash (sat outside for two weeks in front of a trucking company) and tire swap.

Drove the Audi a bit too, ran the battery down to 30% from full after two drop-a-kid-at-the-bus runs, 10 km total, in 30 and 40 km/h zones. Yes the heat was on (single digits), but still...

New rear shocks for Bella's sons 3. Ordered them from Rockauto & when the box arrived it was busted open. Sure enough one of the upper mounts was missing from the box, so a new one is currently en-route. In the meantime we did the one side that was blown out & making a lot of noise. Will do the other side next week when the other upper mount arrives. Next up is new rear brakes.

Nasty. Don't forget to wire wheel that rotor on the tire mounting surface.

Nice, nothing like new suspension bits to rejuvenate an older ride. I assume some nice RA pads and rotors are en route too?

I finished waxing and detailing the Jag, and finished repairs on the Echo. Pics soon then listing for auction. Will hopefully be down to the Echo for summer. It is ready for daily duty.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Yeah, that old shock was nasty. Those Mazda mounts are the worst, been a top seller for us for years now.  :rofl2:

I received this week from RockAuto, my 4 new KYB shocks (after I cancel my hitch order, it becomes a next year project).

Still awaiting appointment with my local proximity mechanic, we are right in the summer tires period change these days, he needs all his lift available all day long...

I keep waiting for the day when I'm working on a German car and I find something intelligently or elegantly designed.

Once again, today wasn't that day.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

All of the German marques have their German "engineering" stupidities..

Didn't your car almost burn to the ground from a PCV valve? LOL [emoji38]
