I hand them my keys and say 'fix it'. They bill me and I pay it, end of story.

Same.

Clarification, in fairness, the entire thread was 68 e-mails, not just Dante!

Regardless, you can't always make everyone happy, but I'm proud to say that most of our clients are regular repeats, and I've taken it upon myself to regularly ask customers for feedback given I'm fairly new at running this place. If there are people that have been around for years that have seen any changes that they don't like, I'm happy to look into them. I'm just looking to learn and make it a great work environment for my employees, and also a place that customers can trust and enjoy their experience at.

Dude... I hope this is not directed to me! I came back and will come back. I would've not come back if I would've not been happy overall with the service. Let's make this clear before wrong conclusions are drawn here again...  :cp2:
This of course if you don't see me as a "difficult" customer because I like to chose my parts and ask questions and talk about the service being done...

Is the AC working?

Yes Sir it does but it better do since the compressor is new.

Excellent.  That's a minor repair considering the complexity of BIMMER's HVAC systems.

Soldered the defroster tab back onto the window on the Slade. It's got one of those rear windows that can open separately from the hatch, opened it the other day and the defroster tab popped off the glass. Was kinda worried about the heat cracking the glass, but it was sunny today and the glass was already warm to the touch, so I gave it a shot and it went smoothly. Way better than spending the $15 on the epoxy kit that'll likely fail anyway.

Took the Yukon to the dealer for driveline fluid changes and to get a couple of oil cooler lines replaced. They gave me a quote back in November for $1,900, so I took it to a local indie for a second quote and the indie was $100 higher. Anyway, today the dealer only charged me $1,650 - they had a line in the bill for a $250 discount. No explanation, but I'm happy to take it.

And while the Yukon was in the shop, I put that new water pump on the GTI. I'd planned on changing the coolant as well, but only 3L came out so I only put 3L new coolant back in. Oh well, good enough for now I guess.

Ballsy, taking one car apart while the other is in the shop....good thing that water pump swap went smooth.  ;D

Weather was above zero here in the afternoon so I stuck away from my desk for an hour and gave the Escalade a good handwash in the driveway....Felt good. Got the salt flushed out of it, and I have a presser here this week so it'll probably stay clean for a least a few days.

What?  No way.

VW G12 would be the OE fill IIRC

Oops, I guess I lied.  ;D

I dropped the Yukon off yesterday after lunch, and I guess they were able to get started on it yesterday, because they called me at noon today to say it was ready. I put the GTI in the garage last night to let it warm up, but didn't actually start working on it until this afternoon.

Yeah, I believe G12 was the factory fill back in 2010, but they don't make G12 anymore. G13 is backwards compatible with G12, and that's what everyone uses now.

Just checked my records, and the dealer used G13 when they changed the coolant in 2015. I did it again myself in 2018 and also used G13.

Every three years sounds pretty often. The TDI forums just say to change the coolant when you do the timing belt.

Is that according to the manual or a best practice?

I usually aim for every 5-6 years. Can't remember what the manual says, but think it's six?

So, I had the dealer do it in 2015 (car was 5 years old.) Did it again in 2018, but only because I was replacing the water pump and the coolant was going to drain out anyway. Same thing today - didn't really need new coolant, but may as well replace it instead of trying to catch it in a clean container and reuse it.

Right. I should have picked up that you were doing it again for the water pump. Good thing it's only Tuesday!
