Anybody want to recommend a battery maintainer to hook up to the 128i for the winter?  Seems like a good thing to spend my Crappy Tire bucks on.

I got this one for the SLK, plenty enough to keep it maintained while sitting.

Get a Noco Genius5.

Loads of power, charges anything and tiny! Even has a nice wall mount to keep it out of the way.

I've used nothing but NOCOs and have been very, very pleased.

If that's not in your budget, the Genius2

Thanks guys, both good options.  I'm storing the car in the basement of one of our commercial buildings, not my home garage....so I'd like to keep the cost low in case someone else "takes it home".  It's secure, but if we need to shuffle cars around over the winter, I'm not 100% convinced our maintenance guys will always keep the charger with the correct car.

You can buy permanent battery hookups for the NOCO. Then it's a simple snap attachment to the charger...Which shouldn't be confused with other chargers.   Unless everyone has NOCO!

That's what I use of the IS.

I use the CANBUS cigarette adapter for the Porsche.

I like the NOCOs as well because the quick connectors are nice and easy to operate, even in the cold. I have a couple NOCOs around. I also have a Ctek 3300 that is in basically constant use on the XKR and it's been great, nice quick connects as well.

I also have the Eliminator unit Gurgie posted, but the larger 7A version. It can be set to 1.5A or 7A depending on what you're doing...I use it a fair bit too, more for charging that maintenance. It's fine too, just not quite as well built as the other two I mentioned.

The ring terminal quick connectors are a must, run the connector somewhere convenient so you don't have to access the battery every time.

Yes…not storing it because it’s some kind of collectors item or anything…but I just won’t drive it as much during the winter months and it would be in the way.  I have room for two cars in my home garage, and I like the daily drivers to be clean/warm.

Frontier looks real clean underneath! How are the brake pads looking? Weird wear patterns on the rotor on both front and rear...front looks like it may be dirt in the pad, but the rears look to me like that pads are getting pretty low.

Good eye!  The brakes need to be done and are on order.  There was dirt in there in a couple of times as I do a fair amount of light duty off-roading.  Had to take the front wheel off to get some out on at least one occasion.  Most times it just took a good spray with the garden hose to stop the scraping noise.  Also, towing trailers quite often takes a toll on the brakes as well.  The boat trailer has those miserable surge-brakes but it feels like the truck is doing most of the braking.

Did the brakes today.  :D

Got my car back this morning.  Apparently, the OEM Mazda rotors were rotted, in part from sitting for 18 months but also because OEM garbage.  Car was bought new in 2017 and only has 38,000 kms.   The stopping difference with new pads and rotors was startling.  Winters are now on and I’m good to go for whatever comes at us.  Bring it!

Nice PowerStops. I put a set on the CTC Ram, replacing near new OEM stuff, and the PowerStops offered noticeably more 'bite' and a firmer pedal. I have a set here for the Escalade ready to install in the spring.

Where did you get yours from?

As for what I did, I fixed the burnt out socket in the SLK taillamp.

Bought this kit from Rock Auto. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=10187276&cc=3435386&pt=13824&jsn=459

Bonus that it got delivered on Friday.  I wasn't expecting to arrive until today.  I'm going to be really busy this week and next so it was really nice to get this done yesterday.

OEM brakes had two seized pads, one front and one rear, and both on passenger side.  The seized front inside pad still had lots of padding.  I'm assuming they were OEM as truck has less than 88K, was dealer serviced, and I saw the service records.  I doubt there was any grease applied from the factory it was so dry in there.  Anyways, these Power Stop ones seem beefy enough.
