I think he means a 10mm socket or wrench...

Right, a 10 mm wrench, my bad. My brain wasn't fully awaken when I typed "key" (clé in French) this morning.
Same type of wrench as seen below.

Swapped the tires on daughter's Accent, a.k.a. my stay-behind car. Topped up washer fluid, checked the air filter, still pristine white. Removed the oem floor mats from the three vehicles, installed the FloorLiners in the Ody and Audi, and the cheapo CTC winter mats that came with the Hyundai.

Had the Subaru in the shop yesterday, at my indy.  Winter tire changeover, oil change, cabin air filter, engine air filter, and they plugged a hole in the all seasons that came off the car so that they are ready to go in the spring.  $277.85 taxes in.

Replaced the front rotors on the Civic. Got  9.5 years and 153,000 kms out of them. Still functioned well without warpage. They were getting thin though and would probably not pass next MVI in a few months. Very hard to remove. Held on by screws which require impact screwdriver. Much penetrating fluid was also required. ;D

Seems steep for an oil change and two air filters.  The winter tire changeover should have been included as part of the tire rotation they do as part of an oil change service.  Unless you needed to actually mount and balance the tires, then I guess it's okay.  And a plug should be ~$20.

Changed over to the winters on the Frontier yesterday.  That's both vehicles done now.  A little early but figured I'd do them while i have the time and while the weather is still relatively warm.  Wheels/tires are some heavy for the Frontier though.   :P

One thing that really irritated me is that the indy who mounted the summers last spring over-torqued them and when trying to remove them I broke the reducer that i have been using for my 21mm socket.  It broke on the second nut.  Not ideal using a 1/2 - 3/8 reducer but the impact socket set i bought over 10 years ago didn't come with a 21mm socket and I've been using a the reducer since.  Both the Frontier and the GS-350 require a 21mm socket.  Never had any issues using them with normal torque settings but i had to crank the breaker bar with all my might to get them loose this time.  This is one reason i do my own changeovers but I got the indy to do them last spring because i was busy and it coincided with the oil change.  I don't do my own oil changes.

Anyways, the Frontier looks pretty good under there.  We've almost doubled the mileage since getting it in March 2020.  It gets used like a truck too getting regular off-road use and lots of slushing around in winter.

I hate those screws! Last time I replaced brakes on my Civic, I managed to remove them on the front, but the rear ones would not budge, ended up drilling them out.

Frontier looks real clean underneath! How are the brake pads looking? Weird wear patterns on the rotor on both front and rear...front looks like it may be dirt in the pad, but the rears look to me like that pads are getting pretty low.

It's cheaper at any shop that's now out of business  ;)

Between a dealer charging around 100 for a cabin filter and a 20 bucks DIY of the same thing, I think the prices above are good.

Tires needed to be mounted and balanced.  The Subaru dealership would have been $400+ for the same hit list.

What's this now?

No indie I've been to will rotate the tires for free during an oil change.

I too thought it was reasonably priced.

Put the Winters on the Tiguan, took 30 mins. I love having the right tools for the job.

Good eye!  The brakes need to be done and are on order.  There was dirt in there in a couple of times as I do a fair amount of light duty off-roading.  Had to take the front wheel off to get some out on at least one occasion.  Most times it just took a good spray with the garden hose to stop the scraping noise.  Also, towing trailers quite often takes a toll on the brakes as well.  The boat trailer has those miserable surge-brakes but it feels like the truck is doing most of the braking.

^^ That's still a new truck. Got the labels on the frame. Or is it a recalled Toyota ? :P

You can't touch anything under mine. It is so caked with undercoating.

Yeah, it was traded in by an older guy and was gently driven.  It was very clean when we first got it.   Few dings on it now but mostly minor stuff.  There's one gouge in my rear passenger door that needs to be repaired.  It was done by some dummy at the boat yard when he backed in too close beside me and scraped my door panel.  The boat yard is a :censor:-show as most people haven't got a clue how to back up a trailer.

Anybody want to recommend a battery maintainer to hook up to the 128i for the winter?  Seems like a good thing to spend my Crappy Tire bucks on.
