I'm offering some peanut butter on a playing card and a package of sugar twin.

Spat out my coffee.

went for a drive.

hit a wild animal for the first time EVER in my life.

and it facking cracked my bumper.

now i regret going for a drive.

i didn't even see the rabbit at all.  jumped in from the left side, when i'm going 80 km/h on country lane...
checked my dashcam footage to find the rabbit.

fack...  now what do i do?

How does insurance work in AB?  My kid has had his grill on the Mustang replaced twice - both times a bird tried crossing the road and both times they should've chickened out and stayed where they were.  Paid his ded ($200) and voila! New grill.  No points either since it's wild life...

Or do they call it a "you're to blame" and nail your arse to the wall with moar premium!!

Last time I hit a deer (still had the Ranger, so it was a while ago), I didn't even have to pay my deductible.

The plugs were original Denso Iridium with 215k on them.

I have the same plugs in the Highlander, currently at 205k km or so.  I'll be getting them changed out shortly.  Did you notice any difference with the new plugs?

I don’t know yet, started it up, pulled out of the garage, and put it in park. I’ll go for a drive today, likely won’t notice anything.

Hmm...you're probably right.  I know he has the $200 ded so that probably means he didn't either...right?  If he'd had the $500 ded he would've...  Faulty memory (wasn't my car/claim - whadaIknow).

That cracked bumper really sucks, but it looks fixable - most body shops should be able to handle it, plus there are usually some smaller guys who specialize in bumper repair. Non-metallic white blends easy too.

I think $500, you pay the deductible for animal strikes.  $300 and below was no deductible.  But MPI has since changed it.  There's now a 'basic' $200 deductible, and a 'premium' $200 deductible.  The new premium $200 deductible replaces the $100 deductible, and includes stuff like free glass repair, and no deductible on vandalism.

Mine is up for sale...just saying...

what!?

Covid pricing... https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/ottawa/2006-mercedes-slk-55-amg/1586253463

We should all bother Gurgie with ridiculously low ball offers...
Oh I had one for $20k within minutes of posting the ad

I don't think it will sell, haven't had any serious interest, but I do have it priced in line with what others are asking. So who knows?

Yeah, weird times right now.  I had lots of interest in the Bonneville, easily selling it for a profit, even after all the parts I put on it, but my G/F has her WRX listed now just over the average (but it's very much an above-average example) and she's getting basically crickets in response.  Weird.

Don't sweat it.

Hit a raccoon with my LS. In Ontario, you pick where it's repaired. I picked the best place in town.

Cost was $2500. I only had to pay the deductible.

Was good as new.

How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Did some auto-x with the MX-5. Some surprising nice vehicles came out including this Aston Martin.

You western folk do all sorts of weird things.  Auto-x in Ontario means a big parking lot, not an open field.   ;D

It was an airport run and associated bits. First time I'd done it there. I'll post some more pictures soon.

Did a lot of cleaning and rust proofing on the BMW for the past week and started the interior cleaning. I scrapped the idea of having the car detailed at the dealer and decided to do it myself. Takes a lot longer but the results are most likely better. Shampoo-ed the carpet yesterday, which was already pretty clean, but now literarily looks like new and fresh. Cleaned up the old gunk on the seat rails and around door hinges.

Finally got my BMW short shifter an hour ago and it's on the car already :bounce: What a difference in feel! The trunk lid struts arrived today as well and 15 min later they were on the car.

Still more parts to come this week - hood struts, stop/start button, one underbody trim piece and some bolts & nuts to replace some of the rusted out. Some parts arrived but still to be installed - headlight washer nozzle, trunk harness repair kit.

I have my work cut out for another week (evenings)/weekend to bring the car to the state I want it in. Will have a proper S&S post when done.
