Not surprised that sold so fast. A really sharp looking car in a great colour. Peak BMW.

Peak BMW is right. IMO that's the best looking car BMW ever made, and that's the best color for it. I am not a BMW guy at all, but that's the one I'd own if I had to choose.

That said, I totally understand Aqua's feelings here....Same way I felt when I sold my SLK. Loved the car, it was perfect (condition wise) and I'd put a lot of effort into keeping it that way over the years, but I just wasn't enjoying it, and I didn't see that changing anytime soon - especially being a 2-seater only.

Aqua - was it a local sale/buyer? Just curious.

Buyers from QC.

Many local and long distance interests were expressed, but QC guy basically said he will take it no questions asked and presented figure acceptable so it went.

So many people asking about rear chassis enforcement for the subframe...  As if it breaks on every E46 and it's a deal breaker if it hasn't been done yet.... but it doesn't.  It's stock and  mine showed no sign of rear subframe mount area damage at all.  Oh well, it's gone now.

Son's 2020 F150 2.7 TT just hit 11 months with original oil.  Just shy of 15K km.   :-X    A bit long in my book.  Took it home with me last night and the local Ford dealer changed the oil @ $140.   5w30 synthetic by the bottle.  $10. per liter which was fair.  Oil will be in there a year so might as well get the premium stuff.  Ford bulk fleet oil is 5W20.   In and out in 40 minutes.  Meanwhile went next door and took a white SL Pathfinder Premium around the lot a few times.  Really nice.  What a home run vehicle for Nissan.  The driver's seat goes way back and way down which is hard to find these days.  5 SLs have come in and are sold and 9 mixed units due by mid September.  $54.5 K for the SL Premium  :-X    Then got a very liberal Krowning job just in case the son's decides to keep it after the 3 year lease expires in September 2023 which looks more likely than not.  `

it's just a car

The ones we really love are never "just cars."  And like you said, you put a lot of time and blood into this one.

I'm gonna cry my eyes out when the C30 has to go.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Re-insured it for street us and...uhm...fixed my exhaust leak  ;D

On holidays next week, I'll see if I can find a place that can fix that.  No way I'm getting those old rusty bolts out, and I don't have parts to re-attach it anyway.  Still sounds like garbage but just not as loud garbage.  I prefer it quiet. (Maybe they'd punch out - if I had punches...and if I had bolts...hmmm...maybe I need to go back and try again.)

Thinking about replacing all the MAX Brakes crap from a couple of years ago.  They brake, but they don't brake nice.  But...another $400 on Cdn Tire or Piston Ring parts - or suffer the crappy brakes and just drive it.  Could be once a week to work and back...conundrum.

Also filled it up for the first time since Oct 5th, 2020.  I thought it was closer to a year ago...guess I was wrong.  Still (apparently??) says I managed 11.2l/100 on the tank.  Seems inconceivable to me...but I haven't put any other gas in it since then so, I guess it's right?  Hmmm...

Last time I bought such tape at the nearest CTC I found on our route to Niagara Falls (sure, classy honeymoon in 1983), I taped the leaking exhaust right into the GTA motel's parking  ;D

Sitting at OK Tire getting the exhaust gasket replaced. Winkler- where not a single I’ve seen yet is wearing a mask. Was in Wpg the other day and I’d say 99% of the people were. Winkler is special though. I think they’re still under 30% vaccinated. Masks have been optional here since the beginning.

$110.55 for exhaust fix...good enough, and damn I love my car again...even more.  Loud straight piped V6 sounds like scheisse.

Also bought new rotors and pads - another $442 and change...driven the car 2076 km since March 7, 2020...spent more on repairs/maintenance in the last 2 years than it's worth on gas... ;D :P :'(
It's so quiet now...it's like that feeling you get on your wedding night...or whenever The First Time was/is... ;D

Should I do an oil change?  Mar 7 2020 is also the last oil change...

Interesting issue. My wife has a 2017 GMC Sierra. Started running like garbage. Spark plug wire worked its way loose.  :o

They still use spark plug wires?  I thought all modern engines had the coil directly on top of the plug.

Cool.  That's a looong day.  Beautiful drive though, up and over the top of Lake Superior.  What was the purpose of the drive?  Work, or pleasure?  Truck, or RX?

Very true !  ;D
Did the Hwy 17 , along the lake , probably drive home on Hwy 11 , the distance difference is less than 100 km and a 1400 trip

Its an OHV engine so wire that goes to the coil pack to the spark plug. (ie the plug is in the head on the side not the top).

Replaced the brakes yesterday.  All day job for an office worker.  10-5...I would starve as a mechanic.  :P ::) ;D

Out with the old

In with the new

Shiny...

Ill fitting hardware...so I kept the old stuff.

Thank Cdn Tire I bought this the last time I did them...

Def something wrong with the left rear caliper, no?

Left right comparison. 16,000 km later...

Probably should do the caliper, but that's gonna be a "work OT and pay someone else to do it" job.  I'd come out ahead.  :P ::)

It's probably just your slide pins that aren't sliding, is my guess.  Lube 'em up.

That would be my guess as well. Make sure your caliper can freely move.
Lighten up Francis.....
