It was for me. Much easier to buy the kit. If you go factory it would be a chore to get all the factory parts. Some of the Canadian cars were not factory wired for it making it more fun.

With the MSM they didn't come with cruise control. Something to do with engine vacuum and turbos. The kit i used is electronic and doesn't use
an engine vacuum source. I did use a factory cruise switch from a non turbo NB in mine though. Looks OEM in the cockpit.

Installed  a Rostra cruise control on the 90 miata. Since  there is no speed sensor to connect to ,had to install a pickup coil  and magnet on the driveshaft.  I assume this is what antique car owners do. It did end up working although I was at  first skeptical. A few years ago I installed a similar cruise unit  on the Mazdaspeed but it did have a vehicle speed sensor . Much easier process.

Wanted to do this for awhile especially for trips on the highway.

Cool! I agree, cruise is nice to have on a toy that you want to road-trip. I use it a ton in the T/A.

Got new AS3+ tires installed yesterday. My old Michelin AS3's still have approx 5/32 tread left so I kept them. Are they OK to sell? I was thinking of unloading them for like $100-$150. They should be ok for another season...

Yup, sell them. Might be able to get $200 for the set. There's enough tread to pass safety, so perfect for someone doing a lease return.

The rear wiper motor on the Outlander crapped out this week. Picked one up from a scrapper for $90+tax and put it in. Problem solved.
These things are $$$ new....  >:(.

How hard is it!?  I've wanted to do that to my Sonic for years...I'm not afraid to try it myself, just never done it yet.  That car'd be great with CC.

I changed oil on the truck.  Good time for it...50%, 6,000 km, 6 months.

I'm wondering if I should do the Sonic, it's been 14 months, but only 3,000~ km...the Fusion same time but half if that as many km as the Sonic...won't be driving the Fusion anytime soon...should be OK to let it sit right? Being it's synthetic oil and all.

Isn't the rule of thumb once a year at least, no matter the mileage?

For what it costs, I'd do it.

I wouldn't think it would be too hard. Just  a bit of wiring and fishing. Similar to car stereo installs. Does the Sonic have  a drive by wire throttle ? Might be easier as no physical cable to attach to the throttle. You can probably get the factory handle for it as well.

Ring gear looks ok on the Mustang. I am thinking solenoid. Looks like it is a re-manufactured starter. Not great considering the car only has 86k kms on it and this at least the second time its needed starter work. It was good enough to break in the alley behind the house so no tow costs.  8)

The big question....is your Bendix broken?   ;D

I bet the pivot broke or came apart.

I managed to switch out winters on the Cayenne and install the new fuel accumulator on the 911, hopefully that cures the hot-start problem
Oh yeah, changed oil on the Cayenne and Miata

That is a little forward for me ... I prefer a gentleman goes out to with me dinner a few times before we start discussing my Bendix.  ;D

Cleaned up the CRV before putting it up for sale. Can see why people like detailing cars, very satisfying.

Still very impressed with the Turtle wax hybrid 'wipe on, wipe off' spray. It held up well over the winter. Two coats seem to make it more 'glassy' but one glossed everything up again not too bad

Still find it interesting how a roughly equivalent trim would be almost the same price now:

Yeah that looks like a real good clean CUV.  I'm sure there will be a lineup of people trying to take it off your hands.

I love seeing vehicles so well taken care of.  That looks like 19 years of pretty affordable driving!
