lexus had a seasonal tire switch over.
while doing it, inspected all the axles, boots, brakes etc.
bearing carrier/hub is so rusty, had to wirebrush the rust off, and sprayed some "Fluid Film" on all 4 hubs.
nothing else is rusty, but caliper and hub was pretty bad. i know it's "surface rust" since the carriers are super beefy, but it's disheartening to see so much of it in just ..5 year old car, and a toyota at that.
hopefully the fluid film works as well as all the youtube says it does. 1 can did all 4 hubs and still have some left.
also did an oil change on the lexus. 5 qt of mobil1's finest 0w-20.

supposed to last 16000 km, and i did let it go that long until now, since i've been going to dealer for it, but will be doing it at every 12k km from now, or 10 if i feel like it.
stupid filter cover would not come off using my standard strap style filter tool, so had to order toyota specific one on amazon. 15$.
a peculiar thing i noticed, there's 2 coolant reservoirs under the hood. by the hoodlatch is apparently the turbo intercooler coolant. by the hood strut is the engine coolant.
engine coolant was way low. i didn't see any leaks under the hood, or anything, i don't smell anything strange when i start it, no noticeable amount of smoke, or any coolant mixed in the engine oil.. so i don't know where it went...
on very cold start, on my steep drive way, maybe some overflows out of the reservoir? it does have overflow port on the back side of the coolant tank, and i think the fluid might reach it when parked.
anyway, had to go get a bottle of "toyota" pink coolant and filled it up. hopefully nothing serious.
