Couple weeks ago, I drove on a frozen lake.

Local(ish) lake used to have winter driving schools on frozen lake before.
Lots of kids/family having fun on frozen lake.

Also, yesterday broke out the pressure washer and gave the Lexus and Merc a good hosing down.

I realized that this was the first time I used pressure washer on the Benz.

It didn't leak like a sieve, but I did find few drizzle of water made in into to cabin.  Oh well. I hear it's apparently normal thing for convertible so I won't worry about it.

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

^Pretty typical for the SLK. My brother's 98 would apparently leak onto his leg if he drove in heavy rain. My 01 never leaked while driving, even in bad storms, but it wasn't uncommon to have a little droplet or two of water on the inside of the side window after a wash (garden hose pressure).

Does the R171 drop the window when you open the door and then bring it up when the door is shut? Our R170's didn't, but many convertibles do (including my XKR, and my dad's early XK8) and in my experience those ones are leak free. Course, the window operating is another potential failure point.....so I'd probably rather live with a drip or two and not have the fancy window thing.

Getting dents (primary and secondary from that door, he really wacked it) removed this morning. Fingers crossed.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Let's hope that they can get it out and back to looking perfect.

I went to Dr Dent last year when I dented the fender of my truck with my elbow (slipped on some ice, caught myself on the truck) last winter.  They did a great job, no evidence of the dent having ever been there.

I am hopeful, he had to wet sand and buff it. Door needs to be re-coated in ceramic now. Ugh it makes my stomach hurt to see it damaged like that.

I once attended a talk from a guy who fixed hail damaged on an aluminum bodied Mercedes Gullwing. The before and after was amazing.

If dimples improve the aerodynamics of a golf ball, why not cars?

If I had access to things, I'd do this test with the Sonata.

That reminds me I need to check the spare on the Tundra.  I haven't pulled it down in some time.

It is something most people don't check until they need it. Was there enough air in the spare as well ?

Last year I checked the condition of the spares in all my vehicles . The one on the truck underneath would have been useless,no air whatsoever. Since then have
checked them all.  Not surprised really because the truck is 23 and the car is 31. Never used on either vehicle.

Yeah, when I had a truck I would try to remember yearly to drop the spare and make sure that whole stupid mechanism worked.

I get them to check all the tires when I get my oil changed so the pressure was fine. Did not know the bastard has frozen itself on there.

Have had a slow leak on my right rear tire since I installed the winters back in November. It got better & went away thru January & February & now came back to the point where I have to put air in it every second day. So the other day I was walking by it & could hear it bubbling as that tire was in a small puddle. So I reversed & felt around where I could hear the air leaking out, I couldn't see it, but I could feel it with my finger, so I marked it on the sidewall where it roughly was. Today I got around to taking the tire off & found a nail stuck in there, must've been in there for a while & got worn down as I was driving. Pulled the nail out & used my patch kit to patch it, tested it for leaks & it's all good.

^^^ Well done. In my experience these kind of patches work forever, no need to bother a tire shop IMHO.
