Ebay can be good sometimes

I got an entire (new) driveshaft shipped from the States for the CRV for something like $200.00 all in. Came in a wooden box about 10 feet long!

Holey smokes batman! I'd assume shipping alone would cost more  :o

Ordered some exhaust parts for my truck at Rockauto today. Say it will arrive on Friday. The shop I go to could have repaired the truck today at a cost  of $740 but they did not have bolt on parts. They would have to fab something up. They suggested Rockauto . It will end up being 300 bucks cheaper just have to wait for the parts. Last year I had to source a muffler for it through Wrench Monkey.
Getting a bit harder to find parts for it.
One of the reasons why I am searching for something a bit newer.

Still waiting for my parts. Stuck in the Bronx. ::)  Have the exhaust held together with baling wire. ;D

I bought a cat-back system for mine last year, think it was Bosal, for about $230.   Got if from my local guy who runs a one-man parts business (Mike at Import Auto Supply if near Kingston).
I find the shipping cost of large parts like that often rule out Rockauto and I go local.

Your truck is too new. :P  Much easier to get parts. In my case they would have to cobble something together . This is just basic Walker Stuff that they don't stock for a unicorn vehicle that they only see once in a while. The parts were cheap just stuck at a Fedex warehouse in New York.
As I say I may continue to look for something a bit newer. Overall though it's been a good vehicle.

Used the superior traction of the studded tires to avoid some Ken Block wannabe in a Toyobaru BR86 who ran out of talent trying to perform some drifts on a busy public road. Over the curb, around the car and continue on.

I got my Camaro out of the storage. Have to say, I missed driving an NA V8 with manual pretty badly.

Won't drive it that much this week, though. I am getting a wheel repaired, then an alignment tomorrow, then I will install the intake over the weekend and get the dealer to flash the intake tune on Monday.

Will also see if I can wash my friend's car better before it goes into the storage. He decided to park it in a garage so it's worth the effort to see what I can do.
Hot damn that is a great looking car.  I can see why you missed it.
Yeah, it has been fun being able to drive it. What's not so fun is juggling between the two cars I have now in the driveway. It's not too bad once I figured out how to do it, and I am putting my friend's car away next week as insurance expires by then.

On another note, I installed the GM performance CAI on the Camaro. Not too bad to install and I will be bringing it in tomorrow to the dealer to flash the MAF recalibration on it.

And is it just me or is Alberta just full of dragonflies? On my old Accord, I recall finding a few under the battery. Now there are a bunch of them stuck in my old airbox. Definitely not the most pleasant sight and I am sure they cost me 0.001 BHP due to the air restriction they created.

Nicely done.  Hope it gives you a little more performance even if it's just in the sound department.

Looks like a nice product, hope it adds some nice induction sound to that LS.

I let the GF drive the Jag today, she floored it a couple of times, could not stop giggling. Win!

Someone dynoed it and it's supposed to give about 15~20 WHP/WTQ. Not a huge gain there but I can hear an improvement with the induction sound.

Though for some reason, when I turned on the car with the hood open just to make sure everything works, the radiator fan went on full blast and while I still heard the engine, the fan was so loud that it covered a good chunk of the engine sound. No idea why the car did that. The fan even stayed on a while after I shut off the car.

Nice. The GM one has reviews and sounds like the one to get.

It's supposedly based on the Cold Air Induction unit with some differences, mainly the MAF recalibration and CARB compliance for people living in California and a few other states.

And it keeps the warranty intact, so that's also nice.

Wow. No idea you had that many k on it. How’s it holding up?

Haha. I actually had to google that as I thought it was a joke about the movie. Never new they did that.

Everything was going great until my rear main seal started leaking last week. The engine needs to be dropped to replace so now deciding what we are going to do. Otherwise, most things are still original like the starter, alternator, water pump which makes me wonder if it is just going to be a costly year of replacing parts. I still want to try and make it to 300K.

^^ Ouch. Still, making it that far without any major repairs is pretty good. Do you really have any choice but to replace the seal? Shouldn’t drive it like that, and resale value will be killed if you try to sell it that way.

Just curious, but how old was the PCV valve? I know they’re expensive to replace on these cars, but still a good idea to change them out as preventative maintenance. They’ve been known to take out the RMS if they fail.

Make sure to take that odometer pic when she rolls over 300k and post it here for us!

My Mazda pickup was pretty good until 398,000, then one thing turned into another (carb/manifold/clutch/etc). It made it to 430,000 before it croaked for good, but looking back I likely should have thrown that money into buying its replacement, which had 130,000 but was still fairly cheap

The guy next door was backing his BMW out of his driveway and as he turned there was a sickening scrunch as his front bumper scraped really hard against the frozen snow bank.  From the sound of it he might have to do some bumper repairs.

Ha! Nicely played. When I was beater shopping in late 2020 I went to check out a manual Matrix XRS that conveniently had 299,999 km on it, and was accordingly haggard. The seller, a sketchy used-car lot in Hamilton, insisted that it was JUST about to turn the 300,000km mark.

Looking for a new tire and wheel.

My wife was driving in an unfamiliar area and needed to make a right turn on to a road with fast-moving traffic. To be safe, she kept close to the curb, striking it with the front passenger tire. The tire ruptured and she noticed  pressure dropping on the dashboard. The car was still apparently drive-able so she kept going, hoping to get to her destination ~5 miles away. After about 3.5 miles, there was too much noise and the car was no longer drive-able. She parked in a restaurant parking lot and called me. I called for roadside assistance, which didn't arrive. I took an Uber to the location. Fortunately, she was alright but the tire and wheel look to be in bad shape (pictures attached). I replaced the damaged tire and wheel with the small spare wheel and drove home.

Obviously, I need a new tire. I'm less certain about what to do about the wheel.
- Refinish the current one (wheel looks too far gone?)
- Get a "remanufactured" wheel off ebay
- Get a new wheel from the dealer

Here are some links to remanufactured wheels:
