Sold the Lexus. Bye Kira, you were wonderful  :'(

Private buyer from Thunder Bay, flying in this weekend to drive it back home. Also works at a dealership. Got $12k. Happy with that.
Congrats buddy, did you work out a courtesy trade?

No, private sale over this weekend. Time sensitive on his part, and I am fine with that. He gave me what I wanted for it, I am happy.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I wonder how your fuel economy is going to change?  I'd heard that the 2JZ-GE in the IS wasn't the most fuel efficient engine in the world, but surely a supercharged V8 will be worse?

Not that I'm saying that's a concern for you, I'm just curious.

I don't think it'll be that bad....Those IS's get shockingly poor fuel economy. My XKR runs around 13L/100km and that's with zero effort to drive economically, lots of city and lots of right foot exercise.

Firm is right. Initial impressions are, on my commute at least on 2 lane roads, the XJLR has equal or BETTER fuel economy. The Lexus, no matter how hard I try, nets 10L/100km at best, sometimes worse. The Jag, over the same commute, averaged about 8 or 9 according to the trip. Just cruising along at basically idle at 70-80km/h. The previous owner's average fuel economy was stuck at 11l/100km. I am fine with that!

We get 10L/100km regardless it seems.

That's not shockingly poor for something with a 3.7x final drive ratio LOL

Dude, the ONLY acceptable name for this car is "Bagheera."

A black panther is the melanistic colour variant found in members of the genus Panthera, particularly of the leopard (P. pardus) in Asia and Africa, and the jaguar (P. onca) in the Americas.

Black Beauty sounds more like a dildo than a car.

I don't understand why grown men name their cars, so bizarre.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Say what you like, I have nothing to prove. I bought this car for me, as I do with all my cars.

That being said, Bagheera is an excellent name. I will think on that as I take the car for its first road trip this weekend.

1. Bagheera is in fact the perfect name for this Jag.

2. Black Beauty does in fact sound like a dildo.

3. I also don't understand why, but sometimes names find cars. Our beloved Snowman had named the S2000 "Rio", so that has stuck. My old 560SEL was named "Moneypenny", and the current owner actually got a California plate for it that says MNYPNNY, which is neat. My Volvo 240 was named Estelle, for some reason. I don't think anything else I currently have has a name, though the wife's Genesis G70 is occasionally called "Genny".

OH! The '90 Camry is called "Kirby", because the original Camry I grew up in, two-year old me had affectionately named "Herbie".  ;D

[the original Camry I grew up in, two-year old me had affectionately named "Herbie".  ;D

Things I have learned

1) the above is super cute

2) some people name their cars. Who knew? Other than all vehicles I operate being a 'she', never thought of giving them names

3) speaking of names, 'Black Beauty' is ruined forever, you g_d perverts
