On a totally unrelated note, I found an ad for what should be a very rare, well maintained car! Someone here should buy it...

Haha I just saw this, man you are fast. Must get notifications or something...

"It bodes well for me that speed impresses you".

(I really hope someone here gets the reference...)

Meh, tiny grills are for girly men  :D

It is sort of weird how grills are going, either huge for gassers or tiny/none for electrics

Started talks for the Lexus replacement. We shall see how it goes. I take it home Monday for a WAF test drive mission.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Not for me! Got the guarantee from the GM that us service advisors will not be laid off. We are driving too much good business, even in a pandemic. Also, just landed 2 research contracts with the CWM for evening / weekend work. Things are looking OK work wise at the moment.

Good. But that guarantee doesn't mean :censor:.

It does if I get it in writing, which I will. Anyways, this opportunity will not present itself again anytime soon. I jumped at the Alfa when that opportunity arose, despite it not being a good time to get a second summer-only car. I do not regret one second of owning that car. Same with this Jag - it may not be the best time, but if I pass now...I may not get another chance.

Looks like a clean Jag, and definitely loads of comfort and performance.  Seeing as where you work I think a used Jag makes sense.  Any action on selling your IS300?

I am getting some interest, but no bites yet. Someone may be coming to see the car tomorrow evening.

Well good luck with that also.  Glad to hear you are doing well and may be able to get a new fun car.  Anyone you work with have one of these Jags?

Thank you. No, nobody else has an XJ. Other Jags or LR, but no XJs.

Yeah, they are. Still need to get permission to buy it from the big boss...he has been screwed before by employees, who in fact were resellers to other countries...and the used car manager likes to wholesale vehicles faster than the blink of an eye...so I am doing all I can to make my intentions known and stay in the conversation. "I want to buy it, that should be the only item of discussion." Hope to get green light this afternoon.
