Slow time of year for car stuff...
Escalade developed a rim leak (corrosion at the bead), would leak down 10-15psi overnight, so I took it into the mechanic that I use for stuff like this. Later that day, used the DTS to go pickup the week's presser (which happens to be an Escalade) and on the way home, the DTS blows out a brake line. I limp it home and find that it's one of the main lines from the master cylinder to the ABS pump. Of course, it's in a super tight area too...
Next morning, I limped the DTS to the mechanics and picked up the Escalade with the leaky rim repaired. The burst brake line is a hard line, but it has a couple flexy sections built into it to cope with engine bay vibrations...well, those unique lines are no longer available through GM. So my guy was able to make a new section and splice it in (don't ask me how because looking at the area, I have no idea how he got in there to do it), but warned me that with the flexy section the line might be under undue stress, so it would be good to find an OE style replacement....So I am working on that.
On the DTS I also had a TPMS sensor replaced (dead battery in it) and the transmission fluid/filter changed (due based on kms). $400 all in, and the first time something's broken on it in the 2.5 years I've had it, so I guess I can't complain.
