Changed the oil and filter on the Miata and put it away for the winter.  The oil filter is PITA because it's in a tight spot under the intake manifold, mounted sideways off the block so as soon as you crack it loose, oil runs down the side of the block onto the front cross member below then flows every which way on the cross member.  I do my best to clean off as much as I can but oil will be dripping off the cross member for at least a week.

I put on 948 km this season. ::)

Need longer mud flaps!!

Looks good!!

Lol! Thanks. FWIW, those flaps do a great job of keeping debris off the body.

Yes, Rally Armor. Standard size. It has the grey lettering on the back so doesn't stand out as much.

Thanks Gents!

I swapped over my car and my buddy's car today. My dad's I did last week. Still have to swap over my wife's (got too dark when she got back home) and my in-law's 2 cars this weekend. Part of my usual seasonal changeover routine.

Also, that small jack is actually my backup. I have a large service jack that I've had since around '98 that finally crapped out ☹️

Yes ,and thing about that filter location is that when you take the car out next season you will think you have an oil leak when you don't. ::)

948 km ,hardly worth changing.

That Miata's being driven more than my S2000, which only saw half a tank of gas this season. I have it recorded, it's something like ~220km total this year.  :-[

It was almost 20 degrees  in Halifax today. Decided to take the roadster for a spin. Might be one of the last times to go top down. Had a nice time driving beside the Musquodoboit River.

We took advantage of the warm temps and went for a drive in the roadster today as well.  Probably the last one of the season though as it’s supposed to cool off again tomorrow.

Mustang in storage as of Thursday when I finally got around to exchanging the coolant.  Engine being the 3.7 V6.  Took all 4 US gallons of de ionized water to change the colour to neutral from OAT burnt orange.  Took a little more than 1/1/2 US gallons to fill the system.  Consequently, the system holds slightly less than 1 1/2 US gallons with the rad spigot removed.  Total capacity is 3 US gallons. Turned out to be a very trouble free cooling system to refill and then purge the air pockets despite having no bleed points.

Switched occurred around 2018.  This from FORD:

OAT = Organic Acid Technology. Current global OAT is orange. OAT coolant has organic acids to provide long term corrosion protection.

P-OAT = low Phosphate Organic Acid Technology. P-OAT is yellow with slight fluorescence. The phosphate and stabilizers as well as organic acids in P-OAT provide immediate corrosion protection as well as increased service life.

The corrosion protection package in P-OAT (phosphorous, organic acids, yellow metal additives, etc.) provides increased service life and corrosion protection over OAT.

Got the tire savers under the wheels and filled the tires to 50 psi.  Washed of course and then the cover.  Plugged battery minder in.  Will be a long 6 months  :'(

Beautiful weather for an evening drive.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Figured Scaerio would've used that line. Ha, ha, ha!!!

Was a great night, cruised thru Westboro, then down along Somerset along to Elgin, dinner at Johnny Farina's, then home along the Ottawa River Parkway... no complaints!

Put the winter tires on the Sonic...had to back the Fusion out of the garage...hmmm...sitting is NOT doing it any favours.  Developed a leak somewhere in the exhaust.  Hmmm...sounds pretty cool actually.  Took it for a little drive...uhm, very drone-y.  Maybe I'll get it fixed...maybe...not like it's going anywhere.
