Our other tires have always been in a tower of 8 on two two by fours to keep them off the concrete. No issues yet

I thought a pile of 12 was pushing it though!

I also had a pile of eight for a year or two before putting up some racks for my civic. No way am I lifting up the wheels/tires for the acadia onto a rack though, they live on the floor under the workbench.

Odyssey and 335 wheels now up. Those 19” BMW wheels were much heavier.
I love it when a plan comes together.

I went out earlier and took the Escalade, just because I haven't driven it in awhile....No blower motor up front. Rear HVAC works fine, but the front blower doesn't come on regardless of setting. I recall taking the blower motor out (an easy 10 minute job) a few years ago to clear some debris from it, so maybe the motor has finally given out, or the resistor (which is actually more of an electronic control module in this case) is bad. Too cold and windy to investigate now so I'll check it out tomorrow. Luckily, both components are easy access under the passenger dash.

Well. It was neither. Kinda. Previous owner (who was a GM Tech in AB....) upgraded the resistor to the 'revised design' (original was a common problem so GM issued an updated version), the new design uses a new harness that gets spliced into the original one....Guy used slide on spade connectors for the main ground. Connection got hot at some point and burnt. Free 5 minute fix with some solder and heat shrink....but like 40 minutes of diagnostics to pinpoint where the issue was. Oh well, fixed now, and at no cost

My tires just stand up on the concrete, so no lifting, just rolling them to their spot. Rollaway towards the drain is prevented by simply leaving 2x6 "stoppers" on the floor. You can see all twelve of them in the back, under the IKEA shelving. The Accent's mounted 14 inchers are frisbee-small next to the van's tall 17 inchers. No snow tires to store for the Triumph  ;D

That is reasonable, our shop charges the same. Best tire storage I have ever seen actually, climate controlled basement with cardboard separators for each rim and QR coded.

I dropped the Maxima off at the dealership to get the winters put on. I also asked them to appraise it in case we want to get rid of it.
A lot of shops will want you there for an appraisal, be prepared for a salesman / manager to hit you with many questions on your return...just to throw the vehicle on some live auction site and spit back a number that is boiled down to the lowest common denominator.

Yeah, no reason to get a dealer to appraise it. You can tell what its market value is by seeing what comparable are listed for online. Subtract a percentage for trade-in value/bargaining on private sale.

The autotrader website has a good "what's my car worth" tool.  I'd use that before getting an appraisal from a dealer that I wasn't planning on getting another vehicle from.

yeah, it's just one tool among many. i'm getting some crazies in here now who have used these things, but ignore facts in their faces... "but here is what it told me it's worth (pulls out range of 41-45k trade value)"... ok, that's fine, but here is the list of all of your model for sale in the province, and the most expensive with half the kms is 39950. yours should be selling for 36950 or so, which means i can only give you about 33 considering the windshield is gone and your tires look shot.

look at those sites, but you are better to look at the reality of what they are selling for, assume a bit of profit, assume some reconditioning (and no, your car isn't perfect, no matter what you may think!) and go from there... and don't find the most expensive similar one, go for the cheapest.

Took my friend's Mazda 6 for a drive, and vacuumed the interior, then gave it a quick rinse.

The battery miraculously lived after being charged from 6V. OEM Panasonic is some pretty solid stuff.

Front tires chirped a few times and I wasn't even that hard on the gas pedal. Lots of low-end torque. It has more power than I imagined, though the turbo lag is definitely there. Oh well, it will be a good winter car for me.

My car will be going into the storage this Friday.

My friend knows someone who's willing to rent their garage out for a great price.

It's not that cold here, but definitely cold for those summer performance tires. That, my extra thicc tires(285 front and 305 rear) aren't gonna be optimal in the rainter rain.

Friend's Mazda 6 has all-season tires, which will do in the rainter here.

Got my Forester's windows tinted last with Xpel film for UV protection. 35% front and 50% rear/hatch over the existing 'tint' (colour only). It cost $220 and took just under two hours.
On the way back with the afternoon sun on the driver's side shining directly on my face, it totally felt different from before. $$ well spent, I hope.
