I thought those Valiant's were the first ones with Chrysler's  push button automatic.

I have a ton of pics but we will just hit the highlights for now.\

This is what $250 got us from a junkyard near Black Diamond.

We borrowed a friends flat deck trailer-seems legit right?

The leaning tower of power.

With the 13" wheels and crap tires.

Now with 14" and dog dishes.

First run with the super six intake and Holley 2280 carb.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl68k9KLjrI&

I guess this is why it's running a little rough.

Head off and rocker shaft off-see the issue here?

Running with a BBS carb and an aluminum single bbl manifold.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvltRHWtz8A

Lots more work to be done still!

Chrysler first introduced the push button in 1956.

I shall give you your first applaud for the car alone.
The neighbours must hate you - so out of place with the neighbourhood.  "What is this! A junk yard!!?" (we don't have HOA's in Canada do we?)
Some kid though probably thinks you'r...uh...uhm...no, never mind.  Are there any kids now who like cars...?  All the neighbourhood kids probably have their noses stuck to their iPhones or are playing some some online game eating Oreo's and drinking chocolate milk.
WE think you're pretty cool though.  ;D

Well the neighbors have been pretty good (no HOA thank god!) although using an air powered cut off wheel to cut out the floorpans annoyed even me!
And I get a lot of "love the car" from adults and kids alike. My oldest wants the car once it is done but we usually buy a car for the Great Beater Challenge then sell it immediately afterwards to fund the next years car.

Great Valiant!

BiL and I put the winter boots on the car today.

Got the Tiguan towed to the dealer. Wouldn't start even with a full battery. Maybe a starter motor issue.

Used Maguires headlight restoration kit on the Lexus. So far, looks great. No more cloudiness. Tiny waviness in the new UV coating, but that is my fault for spraying too heavy a coat.

Time will tell how it holds up, but so far impressed by the result and how easy it was to do. Next, the girlfriend's Echo which has deep yellow clouds for headlights.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Was it trying to turn over?   Had this with my pickup and thought the battery was pooched, turned out to be a seized alternator.

Selenoid/relay/ground issue/ecu?

Could be darn near anything.

You checked battery voltage or try jumping it for the heck of it?

I know the battery was full, didn't have the time or the inclination to dig deeper. Called CAA and they took it. Could be a few things that the dealer probably has in stock anyway, no point me trying to figure it out.

Yeah agreed, as much as we love troubleshooting here...sometimes it is best to toss the keys and say "fix it"

How old is the Tiguan?  Still under warranty?
