that is a pretty sick setup, would be looking at the same if I traded the Lexus for the Jag this winter - 19s in black with winter rubber
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

What's the status on the Jag purchase?

Customer has not committed to the trade in, being wooed by the sales manager still. Fingers crossed.

I'll be on the lookout for a big syringe. Most of the mess comes from the hoses after I'm done filling as they are still full of fluid and need to be drained. Also the end that was in the bottle is coated on the outside with fluid and drips as well.

Snaking in a hose from the top could work, although I think I would end up wasting more fluid as I can't see the fill hole from above.

Thanks for the suggestions!

You're doing the hard way.  Buy a marine lower end pump.  Screw device on whatever bottle of fluid your wanting to inject and pump.  Zero mess and it's fast.  You can empty a 1 litre bottle in 30 seconds.

https://www.amazon.ca/Performance-Tool-W54150-Marine-Lower/dp/B00J4YL1RE/ref=asc_df_B00J4YL1RE/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=292944199160&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9674541730834031625&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9047930&hvtargid=pla-450107450123&psc=1

Yes, I have one of those pumps as well (for our outboard) but don't find it any less messy than the transfer pump. The issue is dealing with the leftover fluid within the hoses when I'm done filling, not the actual filling process.

Side note, the lower unit pump is quite nice as it screws right into the fill port, however the straw part isn't always long enough to reach the bottom of some bottles depending on the brand.

I really like Enkei wheels, Mango. Strong, reasonably light, great designs and fair cost. I like the choice!

A shout out to Canadian company Fast Wheels too! Like their stuff also.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

FAST FC04 were one of the options but I was having trouble getting them staggered so I stepped up to the Enkei.

Do 18s not fit when you have the AMG performance package or something?

Got the final paint on today. Slathered it on with a brush. ;D 3-4 coats for good measure. Sanded down that tape line a bit beforehand, but didn’t go too crazy.

Got a can of 2K clear coat and I’ll finish off with a couple coats of that tomorrow. Might not be pretty, but it should be bombproof.

Can also sand block down the slathered areas to make it smoother...wet sand.  Then polish it up.

Yeah, I thought about it. I’ve got the sandpaper (800, 1500 & 2000) but not sure I’ll bother. I’m never going to get it to look perfect, and I’m happy with good enough. My goal was to stop the rust and not have the truck look like total ass, and I think this will be ok.

In my mind, more paint = more protection, so I guess that’s another reason I’m not keen to sand it down. Would take a lot of sanding to get rid of the brush marks, I think. Once it’s all clear coated and waxed/polished up, I think it will blend in good enough. Guess we’ll see.

Our local car paint place will put the paint in a small aerosol can for touch ups.....

^^ Yeah, I just found out from my neighbour that our local NAPA can get a spray bomb made up in any colour you want, just need the paint code.

I didn't know that, so had tried to buy a can off the internet, but couldn't get anyone to ship it to me (or maybe it was just really expensive, or took way too long... can't remember.) Ended up buying a jar of paint from an internet scratch-fixing place. It came from Turkey and showed up in a few days.

And another thing, the Yukon doesn't fit in the garage, so I'm doing all this in the back alley. Needed to jump on a few days of good weather when I wasn't working. Even with the "good" weather, a big windstorm came up yesterday and blew crap everywhere, and of course I've had to pick random bugs out of the wet paint, and people blow through the alley kicking up dust...

18s work but wheels are notoriously hard to find for the C43s. Most of the 18 I liked would only work in a square setup 225 all around.which is fine. But I really prefer the stance of the stagger setups d the wider tires in rear.

In the end I just decided on 19s for looks understanding there are going to be some compromises compared to 18s.

Gotcha. The BMW came with the stock staggered wheels for winter but has 225s all around.

I suppose in your area you don't get nearly as much snow as we do here so you can compromise the winter performance a bit.

AWD also makes it way easier to get away with performance snows.

Less likely to get stuck getting going.
