Noticed some steering vibration at 80-90 km/h so I decided to get my tires rebalanced at Costco, free of charge. Tires are 5 year old Michelin AS3's with about 80km on them (5/32 left). Nice and smooth now. Will likely get new tires in the spring, probably the same Michelins (I think they're AS3+ now) since I'm very happy with them.
Wow, considering Michelin only has something like a 70k km treadwear guarantee on these. Might get these for my wife the.

I can’t remember exactly, but mine also have about 5/32” left, with only around 20k km on them.

Depends on how you drive, or maybe the AS3+ doesn’t wear as well?

Wow totally forgot that I have winter tires so the AS3's definitely do not have 80 k on them - thats the total I've driven in 5 years. My guess is 45-55k summer kms which is way below their treadwear warranty. I believe the Pilot Sport All Season 4 is the AS3+ replacement now.

I'll still consider them next spring, regardless of the wear, because they're quiet and have outstanding grip. I also don't drive much.

Dropped the drivetrain out again to fix an oil leak.

^ That doesn't look like a ton of fun  ;D Nice work though.

As for the AS3+ tires, I have them on the XKR...Previous owner had them installed in 2017, they've been through two round trips to Key West FL and back, plus whatever driving I've one (not much, lol) and the front still look like new, the rears have about 70% left. Great grip and very quiet, I just wish the tread pattern was a little more sporty, they look a little vanilla. Since I only really use the car in fair weather the next set I buy will be a dedicated summer tire, no need for all-season capabilities.

I had AS3+ on my XJR, too, and they were brand new. They were hilarious to drive through winter storms in, in a rear-drive car with a supercharged V8. I highly recommend it for anybody who doesn't value their life.  ;D

Ordered new rear tires for the 951, Hankook RS-4's, none in stock in North America in the required size (225/50/16), so I'll have to wait 3 weeks for them to arrive. In the meantime I'll have to put up with the super noisy RE-11's that are on the rear for now.
Well, these finally arrived yesterday, almost a full 6 weeks after I ordered them! Install booked for Monday afternoon before my golf game. Hopefully they'll be quieter than the old worn out RE-11's.

If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Yup, got em done at Wall to Wall... appointment was a 2pm, I showed up by 2:07pm, brought my laptop to work from their waiting room, tires were done in 20mins, so I headed straight to the golf course from there & am finishing up my workday in the parking lot there now  ;D

Rough life...

Oh & these new tires are soooooooooo much quieter so far... grip seems decent, but will shake them down after a few kms on them.

Got new tires at 70,000 km. Replaced with the same Michelins the car originally came with: MXV4. At three years, after a detailing, the car is indistinguishable from new.

First mod, replaced the stock shift knob with the ZHP one. It's a lot heavier and shorter and gets rid of the aluminum trim.

Finally back in the car after a week of waiting on the tire and an alignment.

Did a bit of interior cleaning as the driver side was a bit dirty, presumably from the tow truck driver and mechanics moving the car.

I know, it is confusing. The head unit is clearly single DIN, but lot of space under, not sure if double DIN adapter exist. I have to check your Metra reference above..

2000- 02 Saturn S- series Radio Removal

Try it out, if it doesn't work then return it.

UPDATE below
Thanks both of you. For now, SW2 priority are:

1) new tires : in order, scheduled Friday AM
2) check A/C : appointment taken, scheduled Monday AM
then & only maybe
3) new CarPlay head unit...  ::) Discarded ($)

I have ordered a dash mount phone magnetic holder, now I'm looking to replace the OEM single DIN radio by new one but c/w more modern features: iPhone (IOS) control compatible Spotify / Siri Eye-free / Pandora /  BT / front USB port (to power my phone) / wired microphone, etc

^^ I think a lot of us are having these discussions these days!

Every situation is different. DW expected a slow re-start, but her clinic is pretty busy, so the (paid) van is moving a lot more. The e-tron is used for small-cargo errands (ie freedom runs by me  ;D) and is the commuter of choice for my 18 y.o. - all in EV mode, but I made a short highway trip on gas to work the 1.4t a bit. My 22 y.o. has good hours with her summer job so the Accent is also getting used more. Funny that in my household, it's the car guy who WFH!

I did nothing to my car today but I did follow a brand new Macan through part of Guelph and wondered if either Pfaff M-B in KW or Pfaff Subaru in Guelph would at least do simple service work on one...      London, Concord, Oakville nor Toronto  are places I am going for a service or warranty work.

Thought about selling it, but I don't feel like spending money on a new car.  :-\ I don't even drive much anymore.  I'm budgeting $3k for it next year (new tires, possible oil pan gasket, and surprise repairs).

Being a car guy sucks.  :P

I'm driving like once every 3 days at the moment, it's really weird.
