That's really cool! Good work.
Installed a gigantic screen in the wife’s 3. It’s a quad core Android based system by Eonon but has built in Apple CarPlay. Super easy to install, the speed is about what you would expect from any OE car infotainment system, steering wheel controls and illumination works great, I installed TomTom for when she doesn’t feel like plugging in her phone, and the best feature is not having to look for a reverse wire to trigger the backup cam which she’s been bugging me for ages.
Nice work ! Did it cost more than your Mazda 5 Can you post a link for the unit

Thanks all!Quote from: me_2 on July 03, 2020, 11:39:54 amSince we have you "after" photos, I have to ask, do you have kind of "before" photo of the dash where you installed this?Nice work btw Edit, I went to mfg website, I understand now they offer unit to fit some specific car model and 10" or 7" "universal type.Yea they make plug and play stuff for BMW, VW, Mazda, and a few others. My car when it was brand new:They had a more stock looking unit as well with 8" screen and physical buttons and volume knob, but it required a $60 dongle for Apple Carplay for whatever reason.Quote from: PJungnitsch on July 03, 2020, 12:14:44 pmNice for sure, that really freshens up a car. You get all the adapters to plug into the stock harness plug/aerial on Amazon? The unit came completely wired for my car, it was 5 minutes from when I opened the box to having it fully installed. Even the LCD screen on the upper dash works, something that wouldn't work with any other aftermarket head unit. So when I'm looking at $98 to buy a wiring harness with steering wheel control box vs. $365 to buy something like this, it's a no brainer.

Replaced the battery in my car yesterday. The old one lasted 7.5 years and over 100k km. Not bad for a tiny group 51 battery IMHO.
That EONON Android unit would be perfect for the LS 430... I'd love to have CarPlay (especially since I had it in my janky a$$ LS 400). I'm confused though, because my car's infotainment system, as dated as it is, also handles the climate control.

Lots of peeps have it on their LS. Plug and play and HVAC still works and steering wheel controls still work, etc
It makes me look at what are possibilities to fit an Apple CarPlay unit into my SW2, found only (1) Pioneer yet as retrofit compatible with my old school car... Anything else?https://www.crutchfield.ca/p_130AV3500/Pioneer-AVH-3500NEX.html

The screen can slide up and down and tilt 4 ways to suit your dash.
