Both headlights of my 2001 Saturn SW2 have yellowished over the years.
I have no experience with headlamp/lens restoration kit.

Any suggestion for a *newbie* ?  8)

SYLVANIA Headlight Restoration Kit (HRK.BX) ?
3M Headlight Lens Restoration System (39008) ?
Gone but not forgotten in chronological order: 2019 Volt, 2013 Volt, 2014 Spark EV, 2012 Volt and many others before...

I guess by hand would suffise ..  ??? If not, using a standard drill

3M is a good kit.  39008 is the drill kit.

Yeah, I noticed. Otherwise, any suggestion for 3M hand kit? The Sylvania had a good critic on https://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-to/g1470/which-headlight-restorer-works-best/  but no 3M...

Honestly...they all work really well.

And yes, I've read good stories about the Sylvania kit...been around awhile and a solid choice.

What do you think of there evaluation of restoration kits on
https://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-to/g1470/which-headlight-restorer-works-best/ ?

3M # 39084 instead?

I like drill.  Cuts off some time, especially if there's 3 steps.

This is the article I posted here BEFORE there were many headlight kits.  All done by hand.

I think your kid is trying to signal that the glasses are on upside down.

 You're probably right. They only stay on for about 30 seconds anyway.

Replaced the alternator on my car as it had made a failing sound in winter, so I had a replacement on the shelf ready to go. Alternator went for good on Friday.

So that was replaced. Also installed some uprated steering rack bushings from Daizen, sway bar links and sway bar bushings. Did these "just because".

Recharged the A/C system.  Actually, when I plugged the hose/gauge in that came with the RedTek kit, it showed the pressure in the car's system as 150+psi.  What in the actual eff?

So I drained it all out, then refilled it with the refrigerant that came with the kit, up to 38psi.  Now the A/C blows cold.  Yay.  Good thing, because it's HOT here right now.

Oil change in my 5 with Amsoil XL oil and Wix filter. They don’t make the EA high efficiency filters for my 5 so no point in getting the Signature Series oil but still good for 19,200 km or one year. I may do the spin on filter conversion next year so I can use EA filters.

Any handling improvements? I should probably take a look at some of those things in h the rear of my 5.

Definitely noticed the steering feels tighter. The big bushing that came out was soft. The 2 smaller OEM ones were better, but overall the Daizen bushings are firmer than OEM.

Went with Mevotech links and sway bar bushings. They're based in Ontario and buying from Ontario's online car parts store Wrench Monkey is significantly cheaper than even RockAuto for these. The stock components that came out were still good...car feels a (maybe) a smidge better, but not anywhere near as noticeable as the steering rack improvement.

Have had good luck with Mevotech so far...and a mechanic friend said they really stand behind their product. He said he's had a single issue with one of their products and when he called not only did they refund the price of the part, they refunded the labor. Plus they told him the next time he needed a part  (any part) to call them direct and they'd send him the parts for free...which he says they did. So based on his praise, I've been using them for awhile now....and so far so good.

Finally got around to getting this year's crop of rail/brake dust orange spots off the X5. I used Autoglym magma and it worked very well (lots of purple streaks in seconds)
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Approved the final listing for "Francesca". The auction is being scheduled right now. Will let you guys know when it goes live so you can put some bids in there!  :rofl2:

I really hope this goes well...

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Changed out the rear diff fluid on the Camaro.

Looks pretty nasty so glad I got it out.

Yeah, that does look rather dark for a relatively new car, how many kms on it? Wonder if there is some initial 'break-in' wear that colors the fluid quickly.

3595 km on the odo when I did the change. I kept putting mine off until the last weekend.
IIRC changing the diff fluid was required after the break in as per the manual.
The manual says to change it before the first track event after 2400 km on the odo. I am not doing a track event soon but I feel like I should check on it.

Some folks on the Camaro forum suggest a change after 800 km and then again at 2400 km. I can see where they are coming from for sure.
