Dropped it off at the shop this AM.  Found out that AC condenser is shot...   [emoji14]

Eff, man.  That's a shitty one.  It's usually buried in the dash...lots of labour.

It'll be a $1000 job.  Oh well.  Still love the car.
Did you try Adria?

Sent from my SM-G970W using Tapatalk

Correction - I wrote condenser instead of compressor.

It's at Motor Medics.  Adria's labour rate is about $20/hr higher.  Also, they did some unauthorized work on the 850 years ago - wasn't the end of the world in terms of cost, but means I have no faith in them.  Damir at Motor Medics is also from Croatia, btw.

Cool. will have to keep that in mind! I was dealing with Ante & Sime at Adria when I my V70.

Filled it with gas for the first time since mid-March. Also, Finally swapped the tires on my car and replaced the rear sway bar end links.

Whoever designed end links the the internal allen key hole to keep the ball/stud from spinning should be tarred and feathered. They work fine when new but after 10+ years the threads and hole are rusted, filled with crud and completely unusable. I had to cut all four ends off with a cut-off tool. Anyways, its nice to finally have appropriate tires for the weather back on my car. Now it can continue to sit generally unused in the garage!

I concur, the allen bit on the end links is a huge PITA if you don't live in the desert.

What vehicle? If it's a GM, then it's probably a Torx T40 and not an allen key.

Got the oil and brake fluid changed at the dealer.

They noticed 3 things:

1) Engine ground cable corroded. Ground cable requires replacement. $245
2) Serpentine belt starting to walk off tensioner. Mechanical belt tensioner and ribbed v-belt requires replacement. $777
3) Oil pan starting to leak - to monitor.

those are some nuts prices...
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Its a Honda.

I also replaced end links on my Wife's Acadia and those links have a small hex head that you can put a wrench on to keep the bolt from spinning. Way better design.

Leave the original and install a secondary.  Crappy sells either insulated or braided cables.  Your looking under $20. tax in tops.

Interesting option, I'll look into DIYs.

So do the above issues lead to my starting noise problem? I get a squeal/metal noise when I first start my car after its been sitting for a few days, usually when its dry or cold out. Any other starts later that day are fine. Rarely happens in summer.

Here is a video of my car starting:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFWsTpwzla0

That is a lot for a ground cable  :o

Part is $68, labour 1 hr is $148.
Tensioner is $230, torx screw $9, belt $83.50, labour 1 hr, all plus taxes.

Honda ground cables are generally a weedy and poor in my experience too. A second, aftermarket one is not a bad idea.

Steve's idea is a good one.

Guys in the import scene used to put "grounding kits" on their cars. Came with higher than OEM quality straps that you added to the car..as pointed out, some OEM straps are thin.

And the price on the tensioner is crazy! A top shelf Gates tensioner is like $100.

Buy the parts and do it yourself...barring that have a good Indy do it
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...
