^^lol...the Taurus is now a house ornament...
But in reality it still drives...and the BMW actually just sits there like an ornament, no?
Much prettier ornament too.
And fack me...everyone in ON must be loaded to the fecking gills...new G70 after 4 yrs "because the car was getting "old"", triple car garages with brick everywhere...the brick alone is worth more than my property I'd bet...BMW's up the wazoo... If I could I'd lease a wagon like that for 4 yrs...
Don't be fooled by facades...besides, don't you flip F150s every year or two?
This....triple garages and BMWs are not difficult to acquire as long as someone else (bank usually...though not always) is footing the bill. The only measure that matters is the one you can't see, and that's what's
in the bank, and in my experience that's often inversely related to what you can see. My guess....Taurus guy's net worth greatly exceeds that of his neighbor with the BMW.
Stereotyping here; but Taurus guy bought that house when it was reasonably priced in the 80's or 90's, he diligently paid it off, treated himself to a new Taurus in 1996, good deal through his BIL who worked at Ford, paid that off, uses it lightly, and keeps up on maintenance. No need to replace what's not broken. The inside of that house is probably a time-warp to the mid-90's as well....again, no need to replace what's not broken. This mindset means he actually owns the house, which is now quite valuable, carries no debt and sleeps easy at night knowing that he's got cash behind him regardless of how/when the world goes to
. --> IMO this way of living requires a lot more character than running to the bank to try and keep up with the Jones, your car doesn't have BT, or your kitchen isn't as fancy as the ones on TV.
