Haven't driven the Subaru in 2.5 weeks, went to take it out tonight and the battery was dead. Oops.

Same here, gave it a little quick detail on the wheels to justify going in the garage for no reason other than stare at my car and think
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Funny, that's what the article was called:

Looks like this forecast was pretty accurate in terms of the snowfall amount although the timing was about a day and a half off.

I've been driving the Civic to/from work in this snow.  A little 5-minute commute, so no worries.  Let me tell you, the truck is easy mode.  Big, heavy, powerful, 4x4, and great tires.  This snow 'storm' wouldn't even register for the truck.

But in the Civic with its old, nearly-bald tires, open diff, and nearly no ground clearance?  You gotta really know how to drive in the snow, I tell ya.  The best part is the rear tires are more worn than the front tires, so traction in the back is significantly less than in the front.  When going around corners, the car wants to swap ends.  Oh, and it doesn't have traction or stability control of any kind.  I'm loving it.  The car needs to be driven in these conditions.  It will improve its temperament next year when I put the winter tires on, but for now, it's fun-city.

We're driving two hours on the highway tomorrow to pick up the puppy.  We'll definitely be taking the truck.  I don't mind driving the car in these conditions for a 5-10 minute commute, but spending 2 hours on the highway with the entire family on board?  Ya, no thanks.

I thought you bought the Civic for your wife...is she driving the Tundra now?

^^She's not working right now, staying at home with the kid.  I might as well use the Civic and save the gas money while I can.

Although that being said, I filled up the truck yesterday from a half a tank (I've only burned a half a tank in a week and a half of driving - that's new!) and it only cost $40.  So that's nice.

Similar story here too, spent the morning wrapping up some stuff in the basement project, but then got the XKR out of winter slumber. No issues, save for a low key fob battery, and took it for a good 45 minute run. Since the car was out of the garage I took the opportunity to clean up a 1/8 (I think?) scale RC plane I've had since I was a kid and hung it on the wall.

Missed this

The plane my grandfather built; he built probably 30+ of these starting in the 70's up until he passed away in 05. This one has never seen air-time, nor has it ever had an engine installed, but there are many more around (mostly at my parents or grandmothers) that are operational - not that I'd have the stones to try and fly one. This one hung in my bedroom as a kid, then in our basement here, but was getting the way, so it found a new home on the wall. Has an odd little female pilot too....

The Jag's interior is fantastic.  That plane is darn cool.

Hang the plane from the ceiling in your son's room!

Took advantage of a great weather day to throw summer wheels back on. It takes an hour or two but I love doing it since it allows me to check on the brakes, suspension components and also make sure the wheels are torqued right.

I circled Winnipeg last evening on the Perimeter Hwy.  Got about 43 mpg in the process.

^^^Yeah, that Jag is lovely!

Tried mounting the kayaks to the truck today.  Certainly a lot easier than strapping them to a rack on a car but not as easy as trailering them.  The rack will be nice for the odd time we go somewhere where the trailer is not as practical.

Got my OEM wheels back one. Forgot how nicely the car rides with this set up.

And the chrome wheels sets off the red paint nicely...if a bit blingy for my tastes.

A picture may be useful, or a reminder of what you're driving now  ;)
