Or pull the driveshaft and go FWD.

Yup. On CRV's that's a thing, especially before these cheap driveshafts came up. They don't have the PTO issues though

Got a call from a buddy this evening.  He and his Tiguan ended up off the road, and could I please rescue him.   Always game for stuff like that, and he wasn't far.  10 minutes later I pull up, and see he's not only off the road, but down an embankment.  Talk about a ride!  Luckily he and the car was okay.  We rigged up, and I pulled him out.  Despite the steep slope and slippery roads, the truck weighs enough that a steady application of power was enough to pull him up and out, without resorting to snatching.  Damn, I love this truck.

Oh and I guess the roads iced up this evening.  I saw a couple more accidents on the way home.

Gave the IS300 an oil change and scheduled in lots of additional maintenance (summer tires put on, rear axles replaced, brake service, diff, power steering, coolant and brake fluid change). Made appt with Alfa Ottawa for spring inspection for the 155.
Summer tires in Ottawa in March  ???  : :fall:
Going on in April, but buying and getting tires fitted to rims now. Rebates kick in April 1st for most brands.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Good show!

Came across this thing a couple of mornings ago not far from the USA border.  Highway was clear at the time but was really icy earlier in the morning.  The cab looked ok but must have been a scary ride going off in that thing.  :o

Take a Sunday ride today, all electric, following posted speed either highway or cities, warmer temperature help to lower my energy usage average.

As per NRC 2019 Fuel Consumption Guide: Volt Combined 19.5 kWh/100 km
12.6 kWh / 75.2 km = > 16.8 kWh / 100 km  :light: -14% from official combined rating
Gone but not forgotten in chronological order: 2019 Volt, 2013 Volt, 2014 Spark EV, 2012 Volt and many others before...

Took advantage of the nice weather yesterday and gave the Escalade a good spring cleaning...Washed, clay bar'd, waxed, wiped down the engine bay, waxed the rims, etc. That's one car ready for spring....

Pulled the cover off the MX-5 and stuck the annual license renewal sticker on the plate.
Didn't have time to fire it up & go for a drive, but will this week.

Did the exact same thing with the Jag...Actually, went around my place and updated all the stickers. Was really tempted to go for a run as well, but there's still lots of garbage on the roads.

Ordered tires for the Lexus today. Two came within an hour. Rears are 3 days away. Excited to swap them on...

With the rebate and my employee pricing, I could not say no...

These tires are a great bang for the buck before discounts. With discounts, yes, definitely a no-brainer.

Used to have them on my RX-8 and I quite like them. Not as sticky as, say, RE-71R(aka Autocrossers' go-to tires), but at the same time, Indy 500s are cheaper and last longer than RE-71R. They will definitely handle anything you throw at them on the street.
