Whatever I paid, it's still better than overpaying for a BMW.  :P

Took the tcase apart...there's 3 very stout gears in there...what little I could make out of the "metallic" substance that was left, would be fine enough to be considered an additive...not sure if I get pics it'll show.  So, I won't say I got taken, but me thinks mis-taken might be close.  Fack. Fack fack.

^^^There is also bearing material in there, which is what that fine metallic substance may have been.

Hand washed "Kira" for the first time since fall. Felt good to get all the little spaces that the power washer at work misses. The new sensors didnt fix my headlight level error light, now I am thinking of just disabling the light itself...the headlights work fine. Frustrating and triggering my OCD.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Here's some shots of the guts...aside from the fact I now broke it (stupid plastic ring grr) I can't honestly say this would've been shot.  It (I mean the car) facking shakes likes a bitc# though (now)...slowing down it's terribly noticeable, though I still can't say it's the brakes or if it's something else. Like the lug nuts are all about to fall off at 50kmh or less. My kid says it's the brakes - it's what you get for buying $150 cheap shi# and then he tries to lecture me and tell me "I was going to tell you this when you bought them..." so I started up the vacuum so I didn't have to listen to Mr Righteous.  ::) Wants me to put the old rotors back on - uh, dude, they're in a pail, OUTSIDE, in snow, and probably quite shi# by now...engineers...facking university education...keep it to yourself.   ::)

The piece I broke... :( >:(

The little bit of metallic bits I could see...???

Doesn't look like there's anything that could really go wrong there...wasn't leaking, and no scoring to my eyes.  But, not like you can test those bearings by hand...in the end, looks like I'm buying a new car.  My own.  :P

Name for my Lexus. I name all my cars. Kira roughly translates to dark one in Gaelic, and glittery or shiny in Japanese. Seemed to fit the car, which is a shiny dark grey.

Alfa is Francesca. Fiery temperamental redhead Italian.

Suzuki Equator just had to be SuzEQ,   well, at least on my fuel mileage app.

But yeah, my wife names the cars, but some, like SuzEQ above, just beg for it, the Cayenne is of course Pepper, Outback is Subesube.
Miata and 911 are usually Blue car and Brown car.

Have you ever tried using those "taps" in place of a factory drain plug? Just curious how reliable they are...

If I had a Miata, I would get a custom plate and name it Hakuna.  Hakuna Miata.  For the Disney fans.
