Thanks, of everything I own I spend the most time in the DTS, it's been a very good car to have around, no complaints.
This week's car related nonsense was the Escalade needing a windshield. Being a Northern Alberta truck, I am sure the windshield in it was far from it's original, but it was in good shape with no peppering or scratches on it. Anyway, it randomly developed a tiny crack dead center at the top sometime in the summer. I figured it would get bigger, but months went by and it didn't, so I kinda forgot about it....Till one day last week where it cracked vertically top-to-bottom. Still not sure what caused the initial crack, but w/e....
My brother recommended a glass place as they'd done his SLK and XKR in the past, so I called them up, $275 seemed like a very fair price, so I made an appointment and Mrs.Firm took it in. Got it back, work looks good, except there's a push pin in the center of the plastic wiper cowl missing....Pull out my shoebox sized box of Dorman pins and clips and spend 30 minutes out in the dark/cold trying to find the right one....no luck. Spend another hour researching to identify the right one. Then sent Mrs.Firm to the dealership to get some. $275 + about 2.5 hours of combined effort + another $6 at the dealer, and all is right again.
Lots of effort because some clown at the glass shop lost/broke/forgot a push pin.....
