Winter shoes on the SC today.

What tire did you end up getting? X-Ice3?
Yes.

This is my winter set up from the ISF

Nice and that worked out well.

That's the set-up you'll be driving it on in December, maybe?   ;D

Very high chance. My Aunt/Uncle are hosting Christmas again this year and invited us down. Will let you know once we firm up our side.

Cursed at it.
First Mazda glitch.  The centre touchscreen display seems to not like the cold.
It re-boots itself continually until the temperature in the car hits a certain temperature, then all is fine.

Got my tires changed just in time for the 10 cm snowfall tonight.
I hate doing it at the shop - It took me two hours from start to finish vs ~30 minutes at home. But alas still recovering from surgery so didn't want to risk it.

I'm now ready for winter. Now to get my skis out and waxed.

Last week, my wife needed her winters on, due to a last minute need to do a 1000 km round trip when a snowstorm was coming, Friday.  Canuck posted pictures of the snow.  The roads sucked as it turned out.

She went to our local Mr Lube, because everyone else was way booked up, of course. Waited an hour in line, but the tire change took 17 minutes.  That’s taking the four tires off the rims, putting the winters on the rims, balancing, and reinstalling.  17 minutes.  I’ve driven it since, they’re definitely balanced fine.

It took me 1.5 hours at Costco when I had an appointment.

In other news, the 500km drive home took over 7 hours.  She saw about 10 cars in the ditch, traffic was going about 50km/h on the highway.

I’m fairly impressed with that Mr Lube.  They’re not really high pressure, and they’ve pointed out stuff that I need to get fixed that they don’t do.

Yup, the Mr Lube on Mountain Rd in Moncton looked to be a gongshow late last week, but I've heard from folks that they really get the line moving.  Meanwhile, I wasted 3 hours at Costco.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

first time I got to "wrangler" around in the snow this year... coming home from hockey last night and the 403 was a mess... people going 25km/hr in the center just scared... I was still respectful of people and the weather, but no reason I couldn't be going a bit better than that...

never felt the least bit out of control.

lots of issues, but it is sold (provisionally, deposit taken). Took a bath on it, but how much can you get for a half broken car, no matter how well it drives?

Are AGM batteries worth the extra cost?

We'll see, it was $20 off and still about $50-60 more than a plain lead-acid.  5-year replacement warranty on AGM is nicer

Came to $277 after returning a core and adding taxes

Just leaving to get one of these.  Cayenne is dead in the driveway

That's a good deal, even better than costco. I followed your link ... and what do you know  :)

Since my battery is in the back, it will probably last longer than usual, I hope.

BTW are you going to back up power when doing the battery swap?
