Switched out the CFMBs for Sorels.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Fun cars have been away for a couple weeks now...But I had taken a bunch of parts off the Chartreuse MGB for repairs/detailing that I've been slowly working through. Finally had a decently quiet day today and got through almost all of it; refinished the spare wheel, painted the grilles & wiper aims, reupholstered the interior kick panels and rear parcel shelf panel and repaired the center console armrest. Interior in that car will likely be the nicest part of it when it's done - and it was the worst part when I got it.

Friday I took advantage of the warm shop at our Vaughan office to do an oil change in the DTS and clean out the sunroof drains which were clogged up.

Not my car....but talked to a friend today who has a Range Rover.  The sporty supercharged V8 one.

I ask him "Has it ever given you any problems?"

Him: You mean apart from last week when the cam chain and tensioner blew up?   :fall:
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Put the winter tires on the Civic and the Frontier today. Also changed the oil in the MSM,filled tank with fuel, added stabilizer. Then put her to bed for the winter.
Will probably drive the old Smurf for a few more weeks salt pending.

sunday I swapped roofs on mine, my sisters and my BIL's Jeeps... then put away the Jag... and while at the garage, rearranged a few cars, so took the morgan for a good boot, and went for a quick 10 minute drive in the prowler and pacer.

so not a bad day... start in the rubicon, switch to the jag, then the morgan, then pacer... I'm spoiled some days. I will say the morgan was damn chilly with no roof.
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

Finally put the winter wheels on (with 2 new Xi3's in the rear). Took like 3 hours as I'm still sick with flu but I took my time to inspect everything, put synthetic orange lube on the pins, anti-seize silver stuff on the hub centres, torqued lugnuts to 80lb. Gave every wheel a "shake" to make sure there wasn't any play in bearings or suspension bits and pieces. Very tired now but the feeling that everything is great with the car is well worth it.  :)

Priced out a re-man steering rack.  Apparently the Fusion has hydrau-electric steering.  Huh.  It's been making noise for a couple of years now, but only when it's cold outside.  I'll get some fluid today first, in case it's just low (it's near impossible to tell on the reservoir) - wouldn't that be funny if that's all it is.  $1300 all in at the dealer.  + maybe more if there's anything else...like power steering fluid.  Maybe $1500.  Ouch.  If the fluid doesn't fix it, I'll just drive it until I have to replace it I guess (I imagine there'll be some obvious failure denoting it's time), or try the inde - he should be cheaper.  And his mechanics aren't all 13 yrs old.

I guess at 8 yrs and 200k+ it's time to start nickel and diming me like a low mileage Jeep.  ;D

After the usual dreary day at work, stuck in worse than usual traffic (1h to go roughly 40km), a so-so meal at a resto, making wrong turns thanks to wonderful German road signage, I cracked.

Hitting the A3 headed home, I determined traffic flow was minimally acceptable, popped into the left lane, and cruised at 200 km/h for about 10km. It uses approx 90 ch to maintain that speed on flat land.

This french lion can run.
