Sold the stupid Innocenti. That one was a mistake. Oh well. Win some, lose some.

That car was doomed the day you brought home the Tercel and decided to keep it.

LOL.  That was kind of our fault.  We collectively saw the Tercel, and convinced him to keep it, lol.

today, took advantage of a rare sunny day:
- changed the oil and oil filter on the Santa Fe
- installed the winter tires on the Malibu
- washed and waxed the Malibu

Yesterday between rain showers, installed the winter tires on the Santa Fe

The earliest I've ever put on the winter tires!

It's been a super busy couple of weeks and I am tired...but Figured I'd share some of the car related highlights.

I collected a red light camera ticket....least I was in the Jag, so I get a couple of grainy rolling shots for my $325 contribution.

Got the red Firebird and the Sonoma stored away in my home garage for the season, with a bit of help from the boy:

Did a bunch of end-of-season oil changes - no photos.

and brought home a new *mystery* project car.....Quickly stripped off a bunch of parts to be re-done over the winter and stuck it into storage as well....so you'll all have to wait until Spring for the S&S, but trust me this one is worth the wait.

Guilty as charged. Was coming home late from one 'open late' clinics because I was feeling terrible. Speed limit there is 70, but traffic moves between 85-100 on that stretch. The yellow is also quicker than normal on about 3 successive smaller intersections...so if you're doing 80+ you don't have time to stop without really hammering the brake. I knew all of this, but was just sorta driving on auto-pilot and got booked. Oh well, I've resolved to just avoid that stretch of road now...

Ahh yes, safety first!  (motherfu#$ers)  We need more vigilante-ism...load an old tire with gas and burn those cameras to the ground like the do in the UK.  Or would that be anarchy?

The Audi TT irritates even during oil changes.

You need a 36 mm socket for the job.

Yes, seriously.

I have a well stocked garage full of tools...but no 36mm. That's for taking off axle/hub nuts size!

That's the size you need to loosen the oil filter housing. Oh..and there's ANOTHER tiny drain plug in the filter housing too...another place oil could leak.

Plus about 20 screws to remove the undertray...no access door.

Sigh....

I have generally always purchased Michelin, but for my wife's Outback she and my indy shop convinced me to buy the Nokian Entyre this summer.  Very impressed with the feel, noise level, and durability thus far.  I'd buy them again as nice mid-range option.

How are they at speed around tight corners in the rain?

 ;D

My cabin air filter replacement procedure beats this for irritating.

Drove to the airport and chilled after a blast on some back roads. Francesca is going away soon for the winter, gotta get the drives in while I can!

If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Looks good. Never realized how much the Alfa resembles an early 90s Passat.

Yea.

Also remind a bit of those old, boxy Volvos.

The early 90s was a great time for boxy, straight line designs. Yeah from the back especially, the 155 has shades of VW or Volvo in its proportions.
