Annoyed all over again.  ;D

At least the bearings were easy to replace without having to replace the hub assembly.
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Installed the new low-beam bulbs - Sylvania Silverstar Ultras.

took the Alfa to the Merrickville Classic Car show. Pics coming soon, some really nice metal there.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

I got out for 18 this morning walking & this was my afternoon project. Great productive day.

Did the rear shocks, lower shock mount & upper thrust bearing on the 323i this afternoon. The right rear shock was leaking & needed to be replaced, so I decided to do the shock mounts & thrust bearings while it was apart. Reused the dust covers & bump stops. Biggest pain in the ass was taking all the trunk lining out to get at the upper shock mount. Here's a few pics.

Yup, all the plastic push clips, and the putting it all back together afterwards.

I was thinking of going, but went last year and was disappointed as it wound up being almost only UK cars, even though it was supposed to be a European car show...

Just had the winters put on. The WS 80 are wearing nice as after 3 seasons I am down to 8/32.
On another note in the spring I need to get new tires as the OEM's that are 4 years old are down to 4/32. So the hunt for all seasons begins. What would be my best option?

I have generally always purchased Michelin, but for my wife's Outback she and my indy shop convinced me to buy the Nokian Entyre this summer.  Very impressed with the feel, noise level, and durability thus far.  I'd buy them again as nice mid-range option.

I am kinda put off by Kaltire (they the only ones selling Nokian). I would like the Michelin Pilot Sport but cannot get them in my tire size. I am leaning towards Pirelli.

How are they at speed around tight corners in the rain?

Did a big outside detail on my Golf R.  Now she is ready for a winter of salt and sand here in the Maritimes.  I'm glad I had a great day to do this on yesterday.  Next weekend I'll tackle the interior and then I'll basically be done until next spring.

I made an appointment to get my winter tires put on the 25th of this month and the undercoating done on the 30th.  It's never too early to prepare for the winter months.  Last year here in Fredericton we had snow fall before Halloween and we had significant snow that stayed before Remembrance Day.

I finally replaced the rear rotors on the Outback, couldn't get the caliper mounts off when I tried it last and rounded a screw head.   Anyhow, the secret tool to use is a 3-foot socket extension and do it from the far side of the car, got em replaced and new pads.  Put on the winter tires while I had it in.
The parking brake shoe friction material  fell off when I removed the old rotors  >:(

308k and good for another winter

Those caliper mount bolts are made of butter like too many Subaru fasteners.

The local techs now make their own from grade eight bolts by trimming to size. They won’t install the OE bolts if they care at all.
