Cracked spark plug cap meant occasional misfires and fouled plug.  Still seemed to be running fine, but new plugs and wires have now been installed.

Damn that ignition wire looks nasty....

I actually drove the Sonoma yesterday, about a 2 hour round trip. Trying to burn off the gas in it since I suspect it's about a year old. I put stabilizer in it, but still....

I was thinking that the plug electrode looks worse!

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

I have no idea how it was firing, it was full of crap, but the electrode gap was still there.
BTW, the plug wire and cap were supposed to be one piece.

Jacked up the car this AM and figured I'd see what the banging was that wasn't anymore.  I think I found my answer.

That's not important eh?  I tried wiggling the car and it seems no more or less stable than normal. Thinking I might just let it be - though I did pull the link itself off so it's not dangling there anymore.  What could possibly go wrong?  And it's quiet as a church mouse now.  Sounds like a new car instead of an old school bus turned pig hauler.

Wouldn't that have to be attached properly for a safety inspection? I know my brother in laws mazda  failed safety for worn end links.
I recently had the same thing happen to me with the old truck. Bushing worn allowing end link to unattach itself from lower control arm. Made a racket that didn't
go away . Pair of endlinks at Canadian tire 10 bucks.

I've always thought those Sonomas/S10's were handsome looking trucks. Still are today.

If it was to be sold, yes, definitely.  But I'm not selling it so it don't matter.  Funny thing...it has nothing to do with safety, at least not as far as a Sonic goes.  Can't even tell by the way it drives.
They're $35 ea at Cdn Tire, and they're metal instead of plastic.  But it's such a thin metal rod it'd probably break before the plastic would.
$16 Cdn on Rock Auto, and noted as economy parts (same Dorman part).  I will NEVER buy economy parts (again).  Feckin' waste of money.
The MOOG part is even grease-able.  Oooooo...
Not sure I can do it though.

I think it would effect the handling. I know when I replaced the 2 on the truck I noticed a difference.Less sway in the corners. ;D
That's probably how mine broke. I might be a little aggressive in the corners. It gave up after 21 years.
I know come inspection time my mechanic would  not pass it, with it worn let alone missing.

Ahh, see, no inspections in MB.  Not until time to sell.  I thought I would've/should've noticed something too, but I didn't.  It's a little car, the left side is still good.

Found out the rubber trim at the mirror was torn, resulting in wind noise. The rubber holds the window captive on both sides and seals out the air. It was torn leaving a void. This is really thin rubber!

So I used the super glue and baking soda trick. Now this super thin rubber is fixed and holds fast even with the window stretching it. Amazing. I then treated all seals and weather stripping with Gummi Pflege.

Then I wanted to clean the dash and some leather. The dash had protectant on it that was so shiny I actually had glare on my windshield during my drive. I first cleaned with  Mckees 37 APC. It got the protectant off. Dash now looked a bit dull and lifeless. I next used Poor Boys Trim Restore. It's designed for textured vinyl. It seeps in and doesn't leave any residue. Then you can decide gloss or satin finish. I prefer satin. Looks good now.

Leather. There's tons of it in this car. The most of any car I've had. Most of the doors, entire center console, glove box, lower dash and ALL the pillars and roof. So. Much. Leather. I prefer Poor Boys Leather Stuff. Gentle and recommend put on with your hands. I did both doors, console and glove box and dash trim. Looking good.

I'll likely finish the rest of the interior this weekend.
