ordered a new cat back for the Mini. The JCW one on the car fell apart from rust as I was trying to remove the exhaust dump.

(yesterday) Changed oil in the truck...I hate side exit oil drains...fack.  It comes out of there like flushing a turd off Niagara Falls.   :P  Had probably a good litre on the floor before I could get myself out of the way and get the pan underneath it.  Facking morons.  >:( (them and me) Getting to the filter is also an exercise in contortionism.  But, didn't need a filter wrench, which makes it even harder to get in and out.  I must've used 5 or more shop towels and a kg or more of saw dust...and then had to wash the floor with SuperClean (because who wants oil stains on their floor?  ::) :P Duh!)

Then, I changed the oil in the Sonic.  Huh...straight bottom shot hex plug.  No spillage.  Filter comes out from the top, minimal dripping, none reached the floor.  One pair of rubber gloves (the kind a Dr. would use to check your rectum  ;D) and one shop towel.  No mess, no muss, no fuss.

Nice work.

We they easy to replace?

Count me among the rockauto fans.

Only two bolts a side so pretty easy. Access to the inner bolt was a little tight plus it has a cam washer to adjust camber but nothing was rusted or seized so no complaints from me.

IS300:

-new rotors and brakes all around.
-New calipers up front
-New shocks and springs and all top hats, bushing, etc

Still looks decent on 18 year old OEM paint

My friend recently bought a 4motion wagon like mine.
Today we detailed them. Was going to try the sealant rrocket recommended but my buddy had a bottle of jetseal (which is normally $$$) so tried that instead.
Routine was as follows: Wash, clay bar, compound, polish, and jetseal. Might wax tomorrow but instructions said to wait 24hrs before waxing.

Man. I remember having so much time before kids to do all that. Someday. Someday.

It's a reflection of the times - look how many detailer companies there are around these days.
Some would say, waxing the car in this day and age is a 'paste' of time. ;)

This.  So, so this.  I still haven't done a spring cleanup on the cars yet.  It's either been bad weather, or a sunny where I'd rather do something with the kids.

I'm used to just washing the car whenever I want. One of the downsides of an older building, no washing facilities. The Jetta really needs a wash

There is a wand wash just up the street from you, on Osborne.  River City Car Wash. Keep going South past Confusion Corner, and it's opposite the Co-op gas bar.

Limped the car to the dealer. Quite terrifying in limp mode with the motor shaking and making almost no power; at every stop I was afraid it'd just die in rush hour traffic.

Hopefully it's a quick diagnosis and easy fix  :'(  I have no other means of getting around (legally).

Two of the OEM runflats on the Clubman were shot. As a bonus, one had a huge sidewall bulge and the other had a slow leak. Luckily I had taken off the Potenza RE760s from the GTI before I turned it in and they're the same size (though not runflat). Had those swapped on at the tire spot that's a block from my office; it's going back there on Friday for an alignment as well.

Had the wife's Sorento in for regular service today, reported a bit of a clunking noise from the left front, they replaced left and right stablizer bars under warranty   ;D

I really should get out more. I know SHB's place, the office and the few blocks around my place. That's about it.
