had to order a new part for my new wrangler... someone ran into my front bumper!!!!!!!! AAAAAARRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!

a plastic piece, so it "tore" it a bit and dented it. I tried to remain calm and ask my kids and wife, but they say they don't know. I think a student of my wife's must have done it at some point over the last week. not very thrilled... but I just checked and the individual part of the bumper is orderable! smart thinking Jeep! 16 bucks later, and I just have to find out how to put it on!

still a :censor: off though.
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

New front pads and rotors for the wife's Acadia today. Got them nice and heated for the bed in process, sure doesn't take many quick stops with a big heavy vehicle to heat everything up!

Thought I would attempt to do the rotors and pads on the Fusion...nope.  Lack some of the tools...those little screws that hold the rotors in place during mfging won't budge...normally not afraid of tackling stuff but this, this is different.  You Tube is helpful - at least I know what to do now, I just don't think it's smart if I do it.  My friend figures we can do it...guess I will wait for him to have some free time.  Saves labour costs...but if we can't do it, I'm screwed.  Can't move it if it's halfway done.

Have you tried an impact driver on those screws? You can get one for six bucks at Princess Auto: https://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/7-pc-manual-impact-driver/A-p8003577e

And don't worry about messing anything up. Worst case, if you totally round the heads out, just get out the drill and drill them out. And worst, worst case, if you mess up the threads in the hub, who cares? Like you said, the screws are just there to hold the rotors on at the factory while it moves down the line.

This eventually worked for me on the civic when I replaced the brakes last. Didn't need any special tools for the Acadia today though, only 5 years old and the screws came out like nothing. Separating the rotor from the hub was a different story though.

You are not alone. Last weekend I scuffed a bit the front passenger rim on my GTI parking to the curb at night. I got over it next morning when I looked at it in daylight. Not as bad as I thought it was but still pissed on myself as I never scraped a wheel before on my cars.

What sidewall aspect are the tires on your Golf GTI ?

The annoying thing about the pretty wheels on my 308 is that there's no lip or edge (see pic below from last year) so no margin for error on the 40-series 18" tires  :-\ . Sometimes rolling slowly on other cars you feel the tire contact the ledge/concrete before hitting the rim itself, but not here.  :'(

Someone sweeped the corner of the rear bumper on my Outlander on Friday night while the car was parked at the train station. After I cleaned up the area and assessed the damage it turned out it wasn't as bad as it looked.
The side  lamp is broken in pieces but the bulb still works so the connector on the harness is fine. The bumper was separated from the lower valence and I was concerned that the clips were broken or damaged but after some struggle and few scratches I was able to pop it back in. There bumper survived in its integrity with few paint scuffs ranging from 1 to 6 inches so it needs to be repaired and painted.

The guy who hit it was honest and left a note in the windshield which I much appreciated. I went to the body shop on Saturday got a quote to repaint the bumper ($960 tax in) and the guy made an e-transfer so all good there. I'm only left with the inconvenience to be without the car for 2-3 days. He will also pay for the lamp once I get a quote from the dealership in Monday.

So, the nice thing about driving a vehicle with a very high sidewall tire is that the curb has to be very, very high in order to curb a wheel.

The downside is, well, handling.

40 as well and the same  type of design. I barely touched the curb but the contact point was the outer rim at the edge of the wheel  not the tire.

Went for a nice drive downtown and back. Gorgeous day in Ottawa for a cruise.

My buddy took the Alfa for a spin last night on our way to grabbing drinks...think I may be converting him to Italian cars  ;D

If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Beautiful day here so took the roadster for its first good top-down run of the season.  Felt good but the roads are horrible!  Could barely drive a straight line down any of the roads i was on today.  Just meandering around avoiding potholes. :P

Made the 79 (orange) MGB drivable! and took it for a quick spin around the block.

Also took the T/A out for the first 't-tops out' drive of the season - felt freaking fantastic and I wanted to keep driving all day, but responsibilities....

Yeah, took the S2000 to the brewery for quick stop and then to Hampton.  Roads certainly suck and I'm not really sure when I'll have either cars out again.  I wouldn't even think about taking either one into SJ right now.

Basically worth it for a tour from the brewmaster.  :)

I think I can swing a few beers your way if you ever make it here.   ;)

Yeah roads are like that here in N.S. too. Basically a slalom course everywhere. It was  a nice day for top down driving though.
