Not sure about the look...it's OK I guess, compliments the factory HID headlamps, but the blueness of the light is less elegant than the halogens IMO.

I agree.

Went out to the garage and looked at my Miata. Frickin' snow in Edmonton has grounded it and it looks like it be grounded for at least another week. :'(

Not something I set out to do...but took the Escalade to a late family Easter thing downtown and on the way home one of the DRL bulbs died. Check my stash of bulbs and had some Sylvania LED replacements on hand, but no stock-style halogens, so I figured I'd give the LEDs a shot...

Driver's side is the LED, Passenger side is stock for reference (I did replace both).

Not sure about the look...it's OK I guess, compliments the factory HID headlamps, but the blueness of the light is less elegant than the halogens IMO.

I'll leave it for awhile and if I am not loving it I'll buy some halogens and swap them again....fortunately it's a 5-10 minute job.

Last summer I had a Halogen bulb that died on my 2013 Volt. Looks local for replacement at CT, it was about 40ish something. Then, I looked online for HID kit compatible with my Volt on Xenon Depot: found a complete specific kit, price was ok & quick delivery. Since, it is day & night  8) difference !!

^That's to convert headlamps though...my headlamps are already HID/xenon.

Did that car have an offset plate when you bought it or is it something you added?

Car was originally from NS...no front plates.

Didn't want to drill the bumper.

Plate holder screws into tow hook location.

Mmmmmmmmm, that MR2 looks mmmmmmmighty fine.  And then there's that Porsche, even that looks sharp.  Gotta love a well cared for old car, time hasn't hurt it any in the looks dept., that's for sure.  Not to be left out, rrocket's rocket ship.  But time to change the winter wheels out no?

I had no idea this was a thing!

I haven't put the front plate on the Jetta yet. Saskatchewan car, so they didn't have the bracket mounted, and I didn't want to drill the bumper.

Found these where you don't drill the front of the bumper, but underneath... seems like a great compromise! Wish I had found it before I did the front plate on my 951 back in 2014!!!

Drove them both on some back roads, then gave them a wash and wax. Loving the nice weather.

just put on some new rims and tires on my wife's renegade... it just hit 31000kms.... this is the fourth set due to odd circumstances... so crazy!

originals; black styled steel.. not my favourite, so I kept them, but put on winter rubber.
replaced the rims with aftermarket alloys. got a deal through work contacts, but due to that, when the rims wouldn't fit and knocked off the wheel weights, no returns.
went to get spacers and such to make them work, and they had nicer 1" bigger rims and tires that were a good deal, so I bought em.
this past winter, my seasonal tire storage was broken into and all rims stolen. including both my alloy sets. so insurance has paid for replacements. I put both sets together and got a better set of jeep alloys that fit properly.

so on the fourth set of rims at 31k... crazy. all for my wife's car who wouldn't even notice.
i used to be addicted to soap, but i'm clean now

So, nothing that I did to my car, but:

The 2nd Tundra just hit 1 million MILES with its original owner.  He didn't have any major work done, except for a transmission overhaul at 750 000 miles.  He says if he'd have flushed the transmission fluid regularly, it probably wouldn't have been necessary.  He went through a couple of alternators and one water pump.  2007 with the 4.7L I-Force V8.

He's a hotshot driver, and says that he overloaded his truck on multiple occasions, both towing and hauling over its rated capacity.  He has gone through 10 sets of tires through the life of his truck.

I got it dirty driving down a long cottage road.

I think the AWD system on this Gen of Highlander are underrated.  It climbed several steep hills with loose gravel with zero wheelspin.
