No, not this time. I have a couple paste waxes on-hand (Mothers HD & ___ G2); both are decent though the G2 is a bit greasy. Today I used a 3M Polish & Glaze and then a Mother's Synthetic liquid wax.....I usually get samples from work, so I have a pretty vast selection of mostly store grade stuff.

Got the S2000 and Aston both ceramic coated. Now back in the garage to cure for 24 hours.

I'm kidding, lol. Never getting rid of that car. Miata is the DC long-term tester; we'll have it till the end of the year. About to put Bridgestone RE71Rs on it to decimate at the track all summer.

Had the annual révision done at a Peugeot dealership on Friday.

Hurts the wallet, but the car is only 2 years old and thus felt would be worth it to still keep it in tip top condition, and the cleaning of the HVAC system was completely voluntary on my part. Plus, there's the added value of having the dealership stamp in the maintenance booklet from a resale value (although no plans to resell at all). And this is really the only maintenance that I do on the car for an entire year, so from that perspective, not too terrible.

Might consider finding an indy garage next year, but until then, back to motoring !

Gave the DTS it's thorough spring clean-up. Wash, polish & wax, including waxing all the door jambs and such. Tomorrow I'll give it a vacuum and treat the leather.

Love / Hate thing going on with this black, it looks fantastic when it's freshly cleaned, but looks like crap within a day or two, even if it's just sitting around thanks to the dust in the air.

Car held up well through the winter, no signs of rust and the paint seems surprisingly resistant to chips.

Looks great! Setting a good example for your son, too.  My little guy is about to turn three and he wanted to wash his Whisper Ride yesterday.... so we got out the hose and bucket. Fun times!

So, I'll put this here, because I don't want to start a new thread.

So my Mum traded in her Land Rover Discovery Sport for a VW Atlas.  I don't have too many details, but apparently it's the V6 (assuming it has two engine choices).  No idea what trim level, but she says it was more expensive than her Land Rover was 4 years ago, so North of $50k, which I guess is one of the higher trims.

EDIT:  Apparently she says it's the '2nd trim'.

There was previously talk about a 4Runner, so I'm a little bummed that it's not that, but her car, her money, her choice.

I guess all the seats will come in handy when she's pulling grandma duty and carting around my brother's four kids...

Nice.
Curious about your Mom's four year LR Discovery experience - Was it a lease or a purchase, if a purchase what was the depreciation hit, after 4 years she wasn't interested in another LR?
Thanks,
Railton

It was a purchase.  She said she got high 28's on trade for her LR, and I think when new it cost her in the 50's, so about 50% depreciation.  She wasn't interested in a Land Rover because the closest dealer to her is 6 hours away in Halifax.

She had a good experience with her vehicle.  It had to go in within the first year for a new battery, but other than regular maintenance, that's really all.

The Atlas is a pretty good choice. It's exceptionally roomy and comes with a bunch of nice features. The six-cylinder is actually a VR6 motor that sounds really good, as well. Other than that, it's pretty much on par with every other three row SUV out there - I handily prefer it to the Discovery Sport, which was way too firm for my liking.

Various types of Mobil 1 oil are on sale at Canadian Tire up to 50% off.  Sale ends April 28th, though.

Quaker State synthetic too. The deal is especially good with current gas prices in mind. There is still time to buy online and pickup later.

Got the S2000 and MR2 out of storage today.  Still have to give them their proper spring detail as the weather has been sh!t, but hopefully soon.  Road conditions are still sh!t as well, so it's not like I'll have them on the road for a bit.  :(

Lookin really good Shane!     You need to do some type of commemorative red ale in honour of your sportscars.  ;)

Btw, I had a couple of your blonde ales Friday night at the restaurant we were at. The waiter said it was from Hampton Brewery, so I had made sure she got it straight.

Not something I set out to do...but took the Escalade to a late family Easter thing downtown and on the way home one of the DRL bulbs died. Check my stash of bulbs and had some Sylvania LED replacements on hand, but no stock-style halogens, so I figured I'd give the LEDs a shot...

Driver's side is the LED, Passenger side is stock for reference (I did replace both).

Not sure about the look...it's OK I guess, compliments the factory HID headlamps, but the blueness of the light is less elegant than the halogens IMO.

I'll leave it for awhile and if I am not loving it I'll buy some halogens and swap them again....fortunately it's a 5-10 minute job.
